Laca was offered the penalty. but he does that French thing where if he wins it, he doesn't want to take it.

TBH, Laca was hit on the head, so probably wasn't in best shape to take the penalty.

But yeh, Auba is an awful penalty taker. Next time hand the penalty to Iceman Maitland-Niles

So your answer to a player being low on confidence is to try to rally people to further undermine his confidence. Youre a frigging genius...not.

Low on confidence?? First off he's a seasoned veteran not some rookie kid whose feelings need to be coddled a season or two. Even if he did need coddling that way, do you really think that missing pens is better for his confidence than watching Lacazette score them?

Think about it, if you yourself know damned well the dude they gave the pens to has a 100% scoring record from the spot whilst you're NOWHERE EVEN CLOSE to that. Then why the feck would that cause you to lose confidence? Unless of course you're some TOTAL asswad who can't possibly accept that a teammate is better than you at a particular skill.

If they both had 100% records then you might have a point but oh wait we're having this debate because they're not even on the same pitch in AFC pen stats terms. Auba is a seasoned pro, I doubt it'd bother him one bit, he'd probably just laugh tell, Laca "You heard them," step away from the ball and play to the crowd as they cheered Laca stepping up instead. He's just to old and been at this game to long for it to become the psychological issue you're concerned about.

No, he needs to tell the teammate whom hasn't missed yet to take them instead THEN start practising again.

Auba's missed several times, Lacazette hasn't missed at all and that simple stat kills any argument in support of Auba remaining the DPT.

Blah, blah, blah.

Thats for the manager to decide What youre suggesting is the crowd all go all out to basically say they dont want Auba taking it and thats what I have a problem with.

As Ive already said, laca is uncomfortable taking penalties when he's the one that won them. He may have done it once or twice, but I think on the whole, he doesn't like it. Laca won our last 2 penalties, so...

Auba was actually decent with pens after missing the one v Spurs.

However, Laca looks a lot more natural when taking a pen.

Got ya priorities wrong then haven't you, because you should have a problem with penalties being missed when they could be being scored.

----------------------------------------------------------------------As I said, its for the manager to deal with and he should. If you think further undermining one of our key players when he's low on confidence is acceptable I think you have your priorities wrong. Auba is a player who clearly gets a boost from the crowd cheering him, so your request for people to boo him is only likely to cause him to get worse and that is bad for all of us, probably far worse than a couple of missed penalties imo.

What he needs is the crowd behind him and backing him, give him a lift rather than pushing him down.
