Don’t forget banning the name in ninja turtles.

Post, I’ve some things about that. I’m not too involved in American politics and culture, I do get a bit annoyed how often people conflate it with Britain and actually seem to be more interested in it than our own issues.

Obviously America is a cultural empire, so a lot things are hard to ignore. But it’s still a culture completely removed from our own. I think the issues of race and the police are obvious examples, or their concepts or left and right.

I do find it funny that people that think of themselves as part of the left in this country, and have been particularly opposed to America’s cultural imperialism, are so entrenched in these issues relating to American culture and politics - to the point of allying themselves as part of those conflicts.

I find American issues really interesting from a bystanders point of view, particularly the media frontline in what gets termed the 'culture war'. I do find their legal system, federal government and slavish adherence to a written constitution a bit bonkers though.

I'm not so sure people in the UK would class themselves as allied with anything over there, apart from a general feeling of identifying with liberal/conservative thinking. Apart from on social media chat sites, of course, where everyone nails their flag to a mast.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s fascinating. But my own interest isn’t quite as deep as a lot of English people I know or speak to.

I’d disagree with people allying themselves, and identifying with their liberal and conservative thinking is actually where I have an issue as their concepts of those issues are very different to our own.

It may not be a massive amount of people, but there are certainly many people here that get ridiculously partisan over the party politics of America because they’ve allied themselves with it.

I saw the advert and found it amusing and people should lighten up. Tesco should be boycotted for a different reason relating to the self-service checkouts.

Scan and go, baby. Hardly ever get checked, and if they do you just say 'whoops, must have missed those two steaks'

Just don't do it every week
