Absolutely ridiculous.

Sam Billings next in the firing line with a black face photo and linking it to Serena Williams.

For some reason, I do not understand why most Pakistani and Bangladeshi people hate Jews more than most Arabs? They really are brainwashed and seriously suffering from identity problems.

The black face thing…I understand how some might see it as racist, but I’m not convinced it’s done with thoughts of that in mind. If a back guy painted his face white and dressed up as some white celeb, I doubt many (normal) people would care.

Depends on the context, Ben Kingsley I’m sure darkened his skin to play Gandhi, I don’t really have a problem with that as he was trying to accurately portray a character.

But if he was doing it to make fun of someone, I have less sympathy. Not sure why he did it. I think it was a tribute to 2Pac. Not sure, but Hales and 2Pac should never really be in the same sentence.

It’s outrageous that he’s had to apologise for that.

Not convinced I buy that excuse. But it is all about context, how else what you dress up as a black celeb?

posted on 19/11/21

That’s the thing. Like the only other way to dress up as him is go as normal and put a name tag on saying Tupac if anything it seems racist to me that people are offended by this because you are effectively saying that white people are not allowed to dress up as black people. As mentioned in this thread earlier, I can’t imagine a black person having to apologise for putting white makeup on, nor should they have to.

Why would you want to? Plenty of other ways to do tributes

posted on 19/11/21

Unaware of the context but I’m guessing it was a costumer party he dressed up for

The reason I’m assuming people get offended is because of the minstrel shows in the past. Not sure what dressing up as 2Pac has to do with that, but the biggest problem I see is that Hales is too uncool to play 2Pac.

Aye I’ve seen the photos and it’s pretty cringe tbf but just think it’s really unfair to hold something like that against him. Clearly there was no intent to racially aggravate anyone and the only people who would take offence to that are people looking to be offended.

It would be much worse if he dressed up as Kevin Hart considering what he called his dog

It’s no wonder that 80s movie ‘soul man’ is never shown these days.

Isn’t that part of doing fancy dress, more self mockery than mocking those you’re dressing up as?

I do think that if he genuinely was doing it as a tribute, whilst still being stupid, maybe he is getting a bit too much criticism

Doesn’t change the fact that from what I’ve read, he sounds like an absolute prat

Sportspeople should just do what happens on 606 and make up aliases.

What does this mean?

This is a myth. Anyone that has read history knows that Muslims and Jews have got on for centuries. There’s a narrative that Muslims and Jews hate each other - it’s actually more political with israel and Palestinian issue….. remember the worst atrocities committed against the Jews was done by the Europeans - not Arabs or Muslims. Facts

You’re just making that up to suit your argument. Whilst the Palestinian issue may play some part, it’s definitely way more theological than political. It’s the whole Judaism v Islam thing, and a great many Muslim children are taught to hate Jews from a very young age, being told that Jews:-

‘are the s*um of the human race, the rats of the world, the violators of pacts and agreements, the murderers of the prophets, and the offspring of apes and pigs’.

That’s just one quote I found that was made by a Saudi Sheik at a mosque in Mecca.

posted on 19/11/21

Yeah I’m making up history.

Imagine quoting a Saudi sheikh ffs. The same Saudis that are in the back pockets of the west, from funding to politics - US Saudis British all of the same. Same Saudis that back funding for the Israelis via American weapons that are used to annihilate Palestinians- are they the Saudis you are quoting to prove your point. Next you’ll be quoting Iranian leaders to say they represent all Muslims ffs…… jeez.

My dad is Egyptian and hates Jews. Find it pretty disturbing tbh but that’s just the way he was raised. I’ve never looked into the history but apparently Egyptians and Israelis have never got on.
