Kia and Hyundai better for electric than mini
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah but they look shiiiiit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So does the mini
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nooo, looks so good. But I love Minis so perhaps I’m biased.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They aren’t bad looking, they are just very, very feminine cars. Stay clear, unless you are trying to make a statement on your er..preferences
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’m comfortable with my sexuality 😉

They’re just so fun to drive and zipping around the city is just so easy in them.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You could get a much, much better car for that money imo
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Come on, this car is basically Manchester United in car version. (Colour-wise, not quality wise 🤣)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Just screams hairdresser to me
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why? Because it’s a CUT above the rest? 🤓
----------------------------------------------------------------------
no because a lot of blowing happens in it

If you buy an electric car, you won’t drive very fast or very far. And if people see you drive them, they’ll call you gay.

I don’t really like the look of most electric cars tbh. For some reason many are made to look ugly.

However in terms of the tech. Hyundai and Kia much better and better ranges
----------------------------------------------------------------------
feck off in terms of the tech

hello sir.. could i interest you in a hyundi or this top of the range mini... which is basically a bmw in a different shell sir

The large slice of the EU’s Covid recovery fund has finally been paid over to the Government here in Spain. They plan to spend it all on a new joint venture with Seat.

Here’s how it works. The government will NOT spend billions on installing endless charging points. Instead, it is working with Seat to make interchangeable “cassette” type batteries. Standard fitting for all cars.

You rock up at a service station, slide out your empty cassette, and slide in a fully-charged one. On and off the forecourt is less than three minutes.

This, to me, makes far better sense.

The Ioniq 5 is the best electric car in it's budget. I'd take that over a Mini.

What kind of man drives a Mini?

I've had the same Mini since 2004. The old faithful is still getting me around and it's incredibly fun to drive in the windy mountain roads we have here.

I have 5 bikes and no car. I would only consider a car if I can turn it into a small campervan. Like a VW Caddy Max or such.

WTF are you on about, Dunc?

The Recovery Fund is solely intended for the economy. Other non-related funds are being poured into health systems. The cassette battery notion has already won three design awards.

I take it you don’t live on the fourteenth floor of a block of flats, right?

I came up with this idea around 10 years ago. Universal, interchangeable batteries that you can swap in and out at service stations. Copying me!!

our technicians have to sit through about 500 hours of training to become hybrid qualified... you have to be level 3 qualified just to carry out a basic oil service.

any electric cars being worked on have to have a barrier around them and even technicians who arent qualified to work on them are allowed in the area.

if an electric car is involved in a serious accident the safety services arent allowed to enter a close proximity until someone qualified disconnects the electricity.

there are fine margins in everything involved in working on electric cars, electric shocks, fires, explosions... there is a reason you have to be fully qualified to work them and why if you buy one, you cant just take it to a backstreet garage.

they are a ticking time bomb... when you start getting people to swap their own over you are asking for trouble

I imagine they had similar problems going from coal fires to gas central heating. Probably similar problems going from analogue phones to wireless battery powered phones. Wind up watches to battery powered watches. Steam trains to electric trains. What else? Pretty much everything where progress is being made. I will stick to my fax machine thank you very much. Screw you email.

I work for VW and can recommend ID 3 / 4 great cars very quick in sport mode , range is the issue with them though long journeys have to be planned out , as some charging point don’t always work when you get to them and causes panic

Robb, I suggest you to look away from EVs...

Two reasons:

1. You live in a vast country

2. If you use Air Conditioning/ heater the battery will drain out quickly..

It's not ideal for you

Robb. Would it be possible to fit a massive solar panel on top of your car seeing as it's always sunny in Australia. Or even solar sails. If the wind is with you they could be used to move you forward as well and you'd look terribly cool.
