Fair enough that people didn't get him or how his teams deployed him at the time - after all, they also kept on rubbishing Dani Alves or Sergio Ramos for years - but those days are long gone. You might as well judge Ronaldo Nazario on his aerial ability or his pressing from the front.

Carlos wasn't a great defender imo. Yes the teams he played for liked to attack but when called upon to defend, he wasn't Maldini. His free-kicks were vastly overrated as well. Apart from that, great going forward!
