I agree with the soul comment Gem. There has to be a balance. But getting the right decision isn't going to be a bad thing. It is just how far you want to take it?

Yep, that's it in a nutshell

First of all is it really going to speed up decisions? This new technology will send a message to the Var room who will consider the decision then pass info to the referee. Somewhere they will decide whether the player offside was interfering with the play and whether the ball came to him from the opposition so he’s not really offside. The more human intervention needed the more time it takes. And after all that, will it really be quicker and will it be better than common sense.

I saw an incredible decision in one game on tv at the weekend. The ball was played to an attacker who was two yards offside. As instructed the linesman didn’t raise his flag. The player went through and shot and if he had scored it would have been disallowed. But his shot was blocked and went out for a corner. And because corners aren’t reviewed, the offside was forgotten and the corner awarded. So it seems a player is only offside if he scores.

I actually don't have a problem with Var. I have a problem with it's implementation. But it has improved a lot from last season, which was basically how not to use VAR.

There are issues, but as the technology matures, I'm sure it will prove a positive step forward for the game. Unless part of the fun of the game for you is talking about the clueless ref after the match.

To me you miss the main point completely Amiga. For decades I have been going to matches knowing that if the ball goes in the net and the ref points to the centre spot we can celebrate. Now we can only celebrate when someone in a tv studio a hundred miles away says we can. Yes more decisions may be correct and the technophobes can celebrate. And the decision can be reviewed on tv so the couch potatoes know what’s happening. But for people at the ground a key part of the entertainment is lost because celebrating a goal is premature and often fans in the ground don’t even know what’s being reviewed. Nobody will ever convince me that’s good for the game.

Nobody cares about the people in the ground Spangles. Don’t know how many more times I need to point this out to you?

Can't get the U23s match to stream properly on the app but looks like they're 0-2 down. Jordao on the bench.

To be fair Spangles you make some good points. But as has been said, VAR is here to stay, there is far too much money in the game for Teams to lose to wrong decisions.

So if VAR is here to stay, making the best of it seems the best option. I always hesitate to be too critical of how it is working. because it will continue to evolve and improve. Much like it did in Cricket.

The argument is no longer do we use VAR, it is how we use VAR going forward.

Watching the u23 game it's interesting to see that unlike when Nuno was Head coach, the u23s no longer play the same system as the senior squad. They are currently set up 4:4:1:1

3-0 to Norwich now

u23s getting thrashed. It's 4- now and I have to say the Wolves side looks very poor.

posted on 29/11/21

Notice Jordao came on as a second half sub for the U23s. His first appearance for many months.

Poor result for them today but it’s a pretty inexperienced team they out out. Cundle and Campbell not there suggesting they will be in the first team squad on Wednesday

5-0 now to Norwich. I can't watch any more it's too painful.

Burnley have been allocated the North Bank quadrant on Wednesday rather than the lower tier of the Steve Bull because of their low level of away support. But they have only sold half those tickets so they will have the upper tier only and have returned the tickets for the lower tier. That means Wolves will unexpectedly have 600 extra tickets on sale tomorrow.

Presuming those tickets sell it will be the biggest home support of the season with about 29,500 of the overall attendance of just over 30,000 being home fans

posted on 30/11/21

hope it’s a sell out otherwise my offer to the club to buy my seat for the game won’t be taken
even in sell out games you can still see a few empty seats, some poor ones in the quadrant and the Steve Bull ends rarely go but also in the North Bank and Billy Wright some people don’t make the game , not a huge amount but a few

posted on 30/11/21

It won't be a sell out. There are hundreds of tickets left in all areas of the ground, not just the NB.

posted on 30/11/21

Not true Black Country. Apart from the tickets for the North Bank quadrant returned by Burnley there are 103 tickets available at the moment

posted on 30/11/21

There is some limited availability in other areas of the ground, and in total there are hundreds left.

Is that OK?

posted on 30/11/21

That is more accurate

posted on 30/11/21

And right now there are 2 seats available for the game against Liverpool on Saturday

I just managed to buy one of the last remaining tickets.

Good to see that Oskar Buur is getting back to full fitness. Got full 90 mins for U23's.

Cardiff City have had a poor season and Welsh reports say that the only player in their squad who can claim to have played consistently well is left wing back Ryan Giles. He has created chances galore for them all season and his record of 9 assists is the highest in all 4 divisions of the league
