I would make City the favourites.

Chelsea need to up their game if they aren't to fall away imo. Too many so so performances, even if results have just about been sustained. I'd make them third favourite.

Hard to call between Liverpool and City. City on their day are magnificent but still have the occasional hiccup in them. Usually around this time of year. If they're within 3 points of top spot come January, I think they'll win it.

what does Chelsea's fixture list in January look like?
They are wobbling and look like a key injury in defence from dropping points.

Theres still so much football to be played that for now its just about staying in touch, ie: 3 or 4 points within whoever is leading the way. Id say come end of january we will have a better idea of how things will look.

Ive backed us since before a ball was kicked so will stick to my guns but honestly you could make a strong case for all 3 winning it.

City are always going to get a very high number of points so it'll take truly special side to overcome them and this Liverpool side is that.

Liverpool are the best and most complete team but as mentioned in the OP the ACON could hurt them.
If they get through that period well I think they'll do it, otherwise it'll be City.

Chelsea probably need another season under the manager as they're performances are sometimes unconvincing but it still wouldn't be a huge shock if they did go all the way (I think they'll finish 3rd though)

I really think we will suffer without Mane and Salah going to AFCON so I do think we will fall away soon, as brilliantly as we are playing at the moment.

Still unconfirmed whether they will be available for the three games between the 26th Dec and the 2nd Jan, one of which is Chelsea away. The difference of having them avilable for those and not could be massive I feel.

Whoever wins it is going to have to put up a monster points total. Because while one side might drop away, I wouldn't bank on two of them doing so.

Our current injury issues show that anything can happen. Before the season started I said that we had a good chance because we had the best 2nd 11 of the three. And squad depth was going to be key. But we've so many injuries that we're effectively having to use "third 11" players. And no side can cope well with that.

I think injuries are going to go a long way to deciding this season now. We've had our share of bad luck, the question is whether City and Pool suffer theirs.

you will be fine without them 2 for the Jan fixtures. Regarding the Chelsea match, given that its away you would rather have them 2 but its just one match.

Whether its worth the trouble of getting into a legal wrangle with the Egyptian or Senegal FA I dont think so.

No reason why you cant get a point away at the Bridge if United can.

I think you are overstating your injuries. All teams have suffered injuries. Liverpool have had fabinho and Thiago out for a while, we have first team players out at the moment (Gundagon,KDB, Stones, Foden, Walker.

Think all teams will cope just fine against the rest.

Problem is FiFA. They will ban us from playing them if we don't release the players which is now earler than expected.

We got burnt with Matip a few years back where he retired from Cameroon before AFCON but they kicked off and we still could not play him.

true, the big games against each other could come down to injuries though.

For me Man C are the best fooballing side in the league, but Liverpool will it, they just score too many goals, think Chelsea and City will get held to a couple of 0-0's 1-1's whereas I cant see Liverpool having that problem.

Dunno but if that doesnt kill them off then the CWC in February (and resulting pile up} will.

Really fortunate to win yesterday

Squad getting tested to the max atm. We were without Chilwell, James, Kante, Kovacic & Jorginho yesterday. Lukaku only just returned from injury too.

I put City favourites, Liverpool could struggle when Salah/Mane go to AFCON. We'll be without Mendy for a bit and then there's the CWC in February

It’s a point made on previous similar threads but if any of the 3 go out early in the CL knockouts then I’d fancy then to focus and win the league.

I think it was Ferguson who said that attacks win you games but defences win you titles.

That’s why I’m going for Chelsea this season.

It's not a 3 horse race any longer, but now has become a three magicians one! Particularly with regards to player management over the winter solstice period. May the best cauldron chef win!
