The irony is you know who would have been a great RWB - Aurier. He was great going forward and in the RWB role his defensive frailties wouldn’t have shown up nearly as much.
Nice to see everyone being a bit more honest on this thread about Royal’s capabilities than on Striketeam’s one.
He’s abject going forward and no amount of bedding in time is going to change that. Tim Vickery, the South American specialist football journo said he couldn’t really understand the hype around him at all and didn’t feel we were getting any more than a distinctly average right back. I think he’s proved right.
Don’t get me wrong, if you want your RB to sit in and be solid, he’s your man. He seems very good defensively so no criticism from me there but the problem is that he’s playing RWB which in this system is a crucial attacking position. He doesn’t have any attacking credentials to my mind. It’s a problem as much as some fans don’t want to hear it yet, particularly when opposition teams begin to work out that virtually all of our attacking comes from the left side. If they plug that problem, where are the attacks going to come from?
United tried to coach attacking intent into Wan Bissaka and that hasn’t really worked either. You can’t coach that attacking ability. You either have it or you don’t. Royal doesn’t.
I thought he’d make sense at RCB before the Conte-era started. However he’s been one of our best players under Conte and I don’t see any need to change that

i think he'd be good there tbf, just we then dont have a right wing back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Moura would make a good WB... Works hard, tracks back, along with Son is our best player when it comes to getting us up the pitch at pace. Moura's end product is pretty hopeless so if him moving to WB allows us to play a proper/ creative No 10, then it would be a win/win
----------------------------------------------------------------------
3412 with Moura wingback and Ndombele as a 10...we in effect would be dropping Sanchez for Ndombele or GLC. Its a win win for me.
Gets us more attacking options on the pitch. Cam always switch back if it doesn't work.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty sure we would concede more than we score but if its entertainment you are after then knock yourself out. I'll put my trust in Conte๐๐ป
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Against Norwich?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you seen us against them in recent years? Regardless of their position they have the new manager bounce. Classic Spurs fan mentality. "It's only Norwich, we should smash them" lol A few weeks ago it was "It's Mura, easy peasy" They beat us with a plumber in goal lol.
One win against Brentford and some seem to think we should Lucas at right wing back and bring back lardy in the number 10. Classic Spurs fan giving it the billy big bollox.

Think it's a more natural fit for him than wingback but we don't really have any other tested options at wingback so he should stay there for now

The same team as you but in a pararell universe ๐๐๐
I mean just because Poch played Son at left wing why shouldn't Conte play Lucas at right wing back. That worked really well. The Poch diciples are still going strong. Bless em.
I don’t think Moura would work as a wingback - Bergwijn is the only winger of ours that I think could possibly play that role

Sure, Royal could make a decent RCB in Conte's system but using two players out of position for a month is silly. Especially when they're still getting used to a new system.

Maybe but it's not like our performances are so great with supposed specialist players

Sanchez is a scary proposition at RCB. Drastic needs must
Yeah we all know Sanchez isn't grate. But we don't know how Royal would do there, especially in the PL. By the time he's got used to it and we know either way it'll be the new year and we'll either have Romero back or a new signing coming in.
I'd rather he got better at his RWB position instead of having the same issue with Lucas, and trying to play Bergwijn into form (who Conte said he wants to play as a striker) than mess with his development for something that may or may not be better than what we're doing. We also have limited options there - if we did this we'd only have Gil as an attacker off the bench. Meanwhile we'd have Rodon, Sanchez, and Tanganga sitting around.
