It’s not really a miss is it, it was blocked on the line. He has to be a bit more cheeky and shift it to his right or lay it sadio who would’ve had it on his right foot.

All he had to do was.slide it into the gaping space to his left.or.pop.it into the sizable space to his right. Instead.he battered it right into the one area where he shouldn't.

Crazy really.

Are you joking? No way should he have passed it, just pass it in the corner.
No need to smash it.

I agree but he’s on his weaker foot and a simple lay off to Mane coming onto it on his strong foot would allow him to simply pass it past the 2 defenders in the middle of the goal.

He had loads of options other than smashing it as hard as he could, still doesn’t change the fact that he didn’t miss anything.

Deserved to get hooked for that.

On his birthday as well, poor sod!

Was terrible. Dont know what he was thinking. Similar to a salah one at bournemouth a few years back however salah had the composure to just toe poke it into the empty corner.

Still he gets a pass after midweek.

He was trying too hard , his birthday and visiting Wolves .. went to absolutely smash it.. he’ll learn to keep composure.

Plus it was funny reading blobby losing it after we got a last minute win.

The goalscoring prowess of someone who has found a place in my FF team. Sorry lads

People miss with the goal gaping and no defenders.

Jota still had 2 men in front of him.

Should’ve scored but let’s not be too harsh

He missed an open goal from the six yard box. It was a dreadful miss, one of the worst I've seen for a long time. Suggesting he should have passed it is nearly as funny as the miss itself.

Pressure got to him on that one big time

There was 2 defenders stood on the line!

And I didn’t suggest he passed it, I said he could’ve passed it rather than doing what he did.

Yes there were, barely a ball hair between them, moving backwards. Passing it wasn't really an option, or at least a sane one, with the goal at his mercy. He had all the time in the world, with wide open spaces of goal to hit, six yards out. Probably too much time in fact, because I reckon he over thought it and panicked and that's why he missed.

posted on 4/12/21

Definitely, he could’ve pretended to hit it with his left and rolled his foot over the ball and just rolled it in once they’d moved.

Wasn’t an open goal though was it.

Yeah, and while doing all that he probably should have thrown in a rabona and a couple of keepy uppies, or maybe he should have just hit the back of the net like my dead nan would have managed ffs.

He needed to just slide it home as soon as the mixup happened and Coady was still sprinting back to the goal line, would have been an easy goal.

Instead he took too many touches and narrowed his goal chance down, and then just smacked it straight at the defender.

He's better when he's instinctive, sometimes when he has too much time he gets himself caught in between.

posted on 4/12/21

It was an open goal. He took touches to allow defenders back in then blazed it right st coady when he could have taken more touches and walked it in or even slotted ditto into the corner.

It was absolute rubbish from the lad and his head then went. Klopp.left him on too long then.

It is ironic the two horror show moments today came from former players of each club. Jota making a disaster when he should have scored against his former club and then Hoever having a nightmare twice in a minute against his former club.
