I saw this the other day. Thought it was very good and have subscribed.
Yeah same here, very unique content and I always thought that Gary was a much much better interviewer than pundit. He basically pundits like an armchair manager like us plebs with the main difference that we don't get paid for spewing BS...
I quite like him as a pundit, bit I don't mind them in general. Tbf I don't watch Sky much at all bar the actual games.
But totally agree with you about his interviewing. Thought Frank came across very well too.
Saw it the other day. Good watch.
Was a bit taken aback by his honesty of saying that five year plan he pitched the club (remember that getting leaked at the time) was all hot air. Pretty sure that was the case even at the time but didn't expect him to flat out admit it
Also interesting that he views not getting Derby promoted as his biggest regret in football period. Makes me wonder if they'd have been in a better position today if he'd stayed, cos from the outside he did seem to have something special there.
Haha yes you need a plan for both sides to look good in front of the owner. Imagine the board pitching a dude in track suit saying he's just gonna wing it to Roman
And regarding Derby. Looking back promotion was a make or break moment financially so I can see Frank 'overthinking' it and feeling somewhat responsible (of course it wouldn't have mattered if they overspend to survive in prem just before COVID was going to hit...)
