Probably being told exactly what he’s supposed to do! He has been played in lots of different positions by different managers so probably gets a bit confused!
I always liked Dier seems like he carries his heart on his sleeve. Makes mistakes but I genuinely think he cares about the club.

I read he wants to stay at the club for life
He's actually a really good ambassador for the club. I just wish he was a bit better at football.
Also, I like his choice of news outlet to voice his opinion on Brexit.
I have always liked Dier and thinks he gets unfair criticism from 'supporters'.
He's been good all season, even under Nuno.

There's no doubt that he cares about the club which is lovely to here but we need a bit more than that. You know that in a big game when we've got something big lined up he'll have a moment. It's already written.
Dier has been one of our best players this season, people need to lay off him instead of banging on about mistakes that haven't even happened yet.
I wonder if all fans are this hard on their club's players, even when they're performing well, or it's a Spurs thing.
Put it like this. I have been slagging him for two years and only now is he playing alright. He does his job. Fairplay to him. But I'm not jumping on the Eric Dier "shaaag me" train yet. The more beef I give him, hopefully he will shut me up in future games.
Conte will have to put in some graft when it comes to the defence and Dier will make him sweat buckets. He's not alone, but already this season, even against poorer opposition, the balls out of defence, the back passes, the trying to play offside in his own 6 yard box are all trade marks that Dier's been serving up regularly over the years. It doesn't take much to the trained eye to see that he's an average defender and that we might just have to be looking to improve that position if we're looking to improve our results. It's only a bit of foresight. Hopefully Conte can sort his head out.
Just read the article. I bet he doesn't like Ketchup lol

Dier has had some up and periods but ultimately, Jose, Poch, Southgate Nuno and now Conte have put faith in him...but no doubt your 'trained eye' knows better
I think he will benefit from Conte's more intense approach. In the latter Poch time Dier got a number of injuries and seemed to bulk up a lot and became more lumbering, and that carried through in to the Jose & Nuno eras, neither of which prioritised the intensity that Poch & Conte do. I personally think Conte will adopt Dier as one of our generals on the pitch and that he's likely to remain a first choice while others like Rondon will be sidelined and moved on.

He's nowhere near the England team now. All the club manager's you've mentioned have had no choice but to play him. He's the best of a sad bunch. You look at Toby and Jan and now you look at Dier. There's no comparison. He's alright if we want to float around 7th/8th. He's more than adequate. It would be nice to set our sights just a little bit higher though.
