Who would replace him, Harvey?

posted on 2/10/11

If he does go, then I would say that the likes of Peter Lawwell get paid to make such decisions. Personally, I have no idea.

Danny Lennon

MON THE HOOPS

harvey if he does go then surely questions have to be asked of lawwell? how many chances does he get to make the "correct" appointment?

posted on 2/10/11

Lawell also has a job to do and targets to meet to make his big bucks salary even better with a big bonus for money saved!!!To give him his due credit WGS was a bloody good appointment and i honestly thought Mowbray would have done a better job, Lenny i felt was doomed from the start NOBODY should get the Hoops job as a first appointment

WGS being offered the job when he's having a night at the races was something that could have backfired spectacularly on the board if he wasn't a successful Celtic manager. With Mowbray, they were responding to the numerous complaints about how Celtic were dull and depressing to watch. With Lennon, it was about responding to how gutless the team had become, but we seem to be back to where we started in that regard. In all honesty, they took a massive risk with Lenny because the fans will turn on Lawwell before they will turn on our manager. I've also got to say that I think they have backed him in the transfer market and have a right to expect better results.

Charlie i have absolutely No idea who would come to Celtic do you?I have stated before that i wanted Lambo when Lennon got the job but we have no chance of that now. What i will say is that there are thousands of EXPERIENCED managers out there who would do a better job than Lennon.Even sergio out thought him today

A think Lambo is going to be at a top 8 epl club soon

Alan Curbishley would be my choice or Dave Jones

If Lennon was to go, id put my house on Craig Levein being the next manager. He would take it in a heartbeat if Scotland dont make the Euros and he fits the bill for Lawell.

I disagree ritchiebhoy,I thought Strachan would be agood appointment but he managed to alienate the support almost instantly with his never ending put-down that "you nothing unless you've played at the top level" .
Mowbray was a big disappointment but again was it the budget he had or just his bad judgement?
Lennon has done a good job and his teams play better football than Strachans ever did.

It's time that we spent money on players rather than concentrating on increasing the balance, after all we go to watch the football.
Getting extra Europa income isn't doing us much good is it?

After the debacle of the Commons injury can you trust that Ledley/Kayal/Brown are actually injured?

Smid...

A think Levein wanted the job last summer likes...

A don't really like him if i'm honest

It would just be another cheap option

if lenny goes ill be very angy with board he has proved to me atleast he is man for job 92 points in first season is huge total but he needs time

its fair to say he hasnt got all the players he wanted as shown by time it took to get keeper in

if he goes ony way board will get celtic park full again is gettin martin o'neil back and give him what he wants

morbhoy WGS did great job but the football wasnt too prettty. As far as alienating the hoops support there was already a huge section who didnt like nor want him in the job as soon as he was appointed. The only thing i felt about WGS was that by the 2nd half of his last season he had lost interest (perhaps down to the board refusing to allow him to sign Fletcher from hibs in the January?) and it was time for him to go.As far as knowing nothing unless youve played at the top level wasnt that aimed at the media??

I would absolutely HATE Levein getting anywhere close to the hoops job Charlie

A know Coyle is having a hard time at Bolton, but a would love him up here...

A honestly don't think we would have to have a massive clear out, just a manager who has knowledge

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<,
What makes you think another journeyman English coach is going to make a difference? ANY Dutch coach would put these guys in the shade!
