Again, it’s not about who we can field, it’s that we are returning more positive tests each day and our squad seem to be riddled.
The players don’t want to train and play as they could catch it off each other and then pass to vulnerable members of their family.

The club should forfeit the game and put the welfare of its players and staff ahead of a few extra quid from the farmers cup

So if a possible santion were a European ban next season, would LFC pull out in the same circumstances. I doubt it, i doubt any club would. Right now we have no idea what sanctions UEFA would impose from Spurs unilaterally withdrawing or forfeiting (which effectively sees us knocked out).
Spurs and Roma are the biggest draws in this tin pot cup, UEFA should be praying we don't walk away from it.

It is you having difficulty understanding.
My point was once there were no goalkeepers or 10 outfielders then the game cannot go ahead as TH cannot field a team.
The covid stuff is a sideshow to that fundamental. UEFA cannot easily give in or next time it is players not wanting to train cos some players have failed a flu test or aids test or whatever. The teams are supposed to be taking appropriate covid prevention measures - you are more likely to have UEFA questioning whether TH have been effective in that?
Game has been called off.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is incorrect. It was actually Everton who got in after UEFA bent the rules for that season, before changing them to allow the winners automatic qualification. There was already a rule in place that meant the winners could qualify, at the request of the FA of that particular country.
In that season rule 1 of the Champions League regulations stated that "each country can have a maximum of four entrants and, if the holders are not among those qualifying through the league, a national association can request their inclusion only at the expense of the fourth-place team, who have to drop down to the Uefa Cup."
The FA requested Liverpool's inclusion but UEFA kept Everton in also.
In 2000 Real Madrid finished outside the qualifying positions but got in after winning the CL. Real Zaragoza, who finished fourth were relegated to the UEFA Cup.
