id forgotten how good he was. a joy to watch.
Talent beyond belief, I remember watching Jack Wilshere bounce off him for 90 minutes once
I knew pretty quickly that you were talking about Dembele! Awesome player and to be fair he was always going to be extremely hard to replace. There's not many like him.
He was irreplaceable and I would wager we missed him more than we have missed Modric, Berbatov or Bale.
I would love a modern version of him in this Spurs side
I can't actually think of any other player that would have replaced what he brought to the team. An extremely rare and special player.
Top top player agreed, but for me it’s Rafa Van der Vaart

Dembele being sold coincided with the start of our decline
One of my favourite ever Spurs players. An absolute beast
I knew the vid would be of Moussa before I even viewed it. Probably my favourite player of recent times also. Incredible ability to transition defence into attack. Picked up the ball in our half, would ghost past two players and then we were off on the attack in no time.
Modric and then VDV closely behind

Where did Dembele go?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He went to China for his final pay day
The Spurs decline was indeed brought about by not only Moussa Dembele leaving, but also Rose & Walker being replaced by the 2 slow full backs.... Davies & Trippier...
Moussa Dembele is one of the best players I’ve ever seen at Spurs... gutted when he left... as I was when Berbatov left also
Can you imagine Modric & Dembele together... with Kane & Berbatov.., with Bale & Son either side of them!!!

Nobody missing Hutton?

Hows he doing by the way?
Dembele was class but in the modern day I miss Bale the most. That season against the two Milans and watching him evolve into a world class player, he lit up White Hart Lane most games.
If he was available on a free I would still have him back.
Dembele and Vertonghen - my favourite players of peak Poch era Spurs.
Hard to make a definite judgement on Dembele as he only played have the games he should have as he was a total sick note.
Same as "Spurs legend" Ledley King, averaged about 20 games a season for Spurs, but "boo hoo he was world class, just the injury stopped him"
Nonsense in King's and Dembele's cases, being fit and able to play is part of what makes a player great.
Being constantly injured is like being lazy. You never achieve your potential, stop making excuses, you wasted your talent.
Monster of player.....Strength, Skill, Vision and his biggest strength that was often overlooked.... He was brilliant at dictating the tempo of play.
I remember watching him absolutely take the pi55 out Jack Wheelchair and Arsenal's midfield during our spell playing at Wembley... He was magnificent
Shows just how far we have fallen now, We used to dominate midfield because of him, everyone else played better because of him coz he never lost the ball. Our starting position was always higher up the pitch allowing the press to be far more effective
The likes of Eriksen and Dele were at their pomp during that spell thanks to him
Sadly now we have no midfield and our CMs play so deep they are permanently camped on the edge of our our box, the negative impact on our attackers in there for all to see
