Whether fixed or not, races are decided on FIA decisions and rule changes mid race, not about who is best driver. Hamilton dominates for 50 plus laps.. finish line almost in sight 11 seconds ahead. Someone has a really great idea to change some rules with 5 laps to go

Lewis Hamilton is the world champion if the FIA follow there own rules. Lewis drove incredibly and made Max look like a rookie in the lat few races.

Mercedes had same lawyer as Man City had Paul Harris. I still expect Lewis to be world champion. They never done anything like this before in the history of the sport to what Masi did today.

Tbf it was only a week ago that they penalised Max three times for one incident. That was also unprecedented

Remember that race they pitted Bottas for no reason that cost him an easy 2nd. Today they cost Hamilton an easy 1st by not pitting under VSC. If he had I think he would have had the tyres to defend.

Mercedes strategy team must be the dumbest I have seen in history. Even Bottas said the same thing we threw away an easy 1-2 at another race but Mercedes were oblivious and sky team were to what Mercedes did pitting Bottas who had pretty much brand new tyres again a few laps later. Tyres that should have done easily 20 laps fast spent a few laps on lol.

Today Lewis has oldish tyres, Max is near guaranteed to pit or a sitting duck if he doesn’t and what do Mercedes do don’t pit?

I had a feeling that decision could cost Hamilton the championship. If Lewis had those newer tyres then he would have had something to fight with on the last lap but even a Williams would have overtaken Lewis on thr last lap with such tyre advantage.

Max got off lightly last week for trying to crash Hamilton multiple times. You would have thought Max was just trying to crash Hamilton that race rather than race.

Still have no idea why Mercedes didn’t pit Lewis under VSC, he would have won the race if they did as the pace he would have had and Max most likely was gonna pit anyway as his tyres were done.

Lewis had no chance last lap really. Honestly a Williams would have overtaken Lewis on the last lap on brand new tyres. If Lewis had slightly newer tyres he would
have had a chance with his straight line speed and good enough traction.

It is funny though the driver in 3rd can’t overtake cars but the driver in 2nd can lol.

I believe he is an ex palmersport driver. I would love it if Hamilton wins just to see justice for Hamilton and also the face of Horner and Marko.

For me I think the stewards/race manager interfered and skewed an otherwise done-and-dust result.

I can understand they wished to avoid finishing the season under safety BUT Hamilton had the race won, he was comfortably ahead and was never going to be caught my Max. In those circumstances, contriving that final lap situation was grossly unfair. The whole "let them race" "we went racing" attitude stinks where they have changed the way they would usually operate to achieve that final lap drama.

Any other race the SC would have stayed out, cars unlap themselves and the race finishes behind the SC.

IF Max & Hamilton were neck and neck before the SC then i can understand manipulating normal procedures to get a result that was otherwsie in the balance....but it wasnt in the balance, it was Hamiltons win and they manipulated normal procedures and completely prejudiced Hamilton.

As some one said to me this morning, its like in a football match, with 5 minutes left, and you are 3-0 up, the ref decides its next goal wins and awards the losing team a penalty.

Not only that but they had one rule for Max and another for Sainz.

This is the first time anything like this happened in the history of F1 and it was done so it pretty much guarantees Max the win. Why did Max get to overtake the cars Lewis overtook on track yet the same wasn’t applied for Sainz who was right behind Verstappen?
