Hamilton has the better quicker car while Max is the better driver.
...

NOBODY knows who is the better driver, it is incredibly close.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't be silly. The guy who says he hasn't watched F1 since Schumacher started winning definitively knows who the better driver is.
When you watch Man City constantly get every small decision go their way (along with many borderline major ones obviously), it really wouldn't surprise me if they're bribing refs.

I don’t watch F1 these days, watched it a bit as a kid because my dad was into it but it was on tv, has been in all the newspapers so I watched.
I suspect F1 fans will probably feel that was an exciting end to a close season. For anyone interested in F1 and giving it a go will probably feel the same way I did - WTF was that?!
One guy was leading comfortably. The chaser already appeared to get a free tyre change as a result of a crash, yet still Lewis was winning comfortably. Whether it’s the stewards or the rules or the FIA - no idea but they basically handed the win to Max.
I have no real dog in the fight but felt sorry for Lewis and thought it handled it with astonishing grace. But if that’s how F1 is then it’s not for me. A driver can outperform all the other and have the win taken away from them - that’s not sport imo.
Max got very very lucky and im a big RB fan, found it hard to celebrate a hollow win like that. Having said that, the outcry from the Merc lot is laughable as they've had plenty of favourable decisions all season including the past few races and today. Merc whine as much as RB do and Toto was a joke today on the radio. Lewis wasn't much better with his reoccurring theme of calling drivers who he can't pass dangerous.
Overall, how nice to have a fresh champion and the fastest car not winning it

I’m not familiar with Lewis calling other drivers dangerous, nor Mercedes general behaviour. However, I thought Lewis’ comments post-race were incredible. He must have been crushingly disappointed and probably felt a sense of injustice too but he just gave credit to Max and congratulated him. Outstanding sportsmanship imo.

Im with you. I wanted Max to win but thought the decision to allow the backmarkers to go through was more than a little dubious and inconsistent.
If I wasn't happy I can't imagine Lewis was. He showed great composure
The issue is they did NOT let all the backmarkers go. What about the backmarkers between Sainz and Max? Why wasn't the 3rd place man allowed to challenge Max?
They only let the backmarkers go between Max and Lewis. That was contrived and Max was handed the title.
Why bother racing at all?
OP
When you have time from knocking one out & whining about a pointless car procession, can you please tell me why Chelsea didn't deserve two perfectly legit penalties to beat Leeds
I'm willing to wait if you need to look stuff up

Yeah it was bizarre.
They should've gone the whole hog, let them both pit on softs and done a standing start for a 1 lap race, would've been amazing (if their main motive is to create drama which I feel it was with that dodgy decision)

mention other incidents other than the an unfortunate handball that was given to us. Wolves handed the ball blatantly where the defender moved his arm to block the ball and that wasn't given
We didnt make a song and dance about it. We moved on.
I bet you didnt even watch the match.
Maybe Arsenal may need refs to win a league title, I dont think we do.
City have been getting easy draws in the cups for years now. I think its only once they've faced a prem team in the early stages.
I'm not one to shout conspiracy but they have some astounding never ending luck as you'd expect that to luck to run out after a couple or so years, but it just keeps going and going.
Also, Hamilton was absolutely robbed, whether it was on purpose or per chance is another matter though.
He was gonna get an eighth straight title and put the GOAT debate to rest once and for all.
Having said that, he is still the GOAT in my book and has been a blessing, a revelation and a revolutionary to F1 in much the same way Tiger Woods was a blessing, a revelation and revolutionary to the sport of golf.
If the Williams smacked the barrier a lap earlier or Masi got the cars in order a lot sooner there wouldn't be any controversy. The decision not to bring Lewis in for a new set of tyres always had the opportunity to bite Merc on the arrse. F1 has moved on and it was the right decision to let the drivers race.

Well no, if Masi followed the guidelines to the letter then either ALL lapped cars stayed where they were and max would have to have passed them on the track OR all lapped cars should have been let through and the safety car comes in the lap AFTER the last lapped car overtakes it thereby allowing them to get far enough ahead so they don't interfere with the leaders, by which time the race would have finished.
<cynicmode>Blatant cheating by Masi to give the championship to Max. After all they couldn't allow Lewis to become the outright GOAT and leave Schumacher without his legacy could they. </cynicmode>

Except he didnt cheat, he did what he did within the rules. It has been explained by FIA. But people with blinkers on just keep focussing on 48.12, but dont read any of the other regulations which gave Massi the authority to do what he did. So its not cheating, but Hamilton fan girls will never stop moaning about it, just like their fuhrer Toto.

Of course had they known what Massi, RD was planning they would have. This is why it was incredibly unfair and clearly manipulated and Lewis himself said when he was overtaken by Max on fresh tyres.

No it doesn't.
48.13 is a clarification not a stipulation that can over rule 48.12. The stewards were clutching at straws to protect the integrity of their Race Director. Which is why FIA's case would be thrown out by the first judge that sees it. I suspect FIA will negotiate in the background to not let it get so far but it all depends on how charitable Merc are feeling. Which is not much. The CEO of Daimler was present at the race and he was fuming at being cheated.

The decision not to bring Lewis in for a new set of tyres always had the opportunity to bite Merc on the arrse.
...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well no, if Masi followed the guidelines to the letter then either ALL lapped cars stayed where they were and max would have to have passed them on the track OR all lapped cars should have been let through and the safety car comes in the lap AFTER the last lapped car overtakes it thereby allowing them to get far enough ahead so they don't interfere with the leaders, by which time the race would have finished.
<cynicmode>Blatant cheating by Masi to give the championship to Max. After all they couldn't allow Lewis to become the outright GOAT and leave Schumacher without his legacy could they. </cynicmode>
----------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Except he didnt cheat, he did what he did within the rules. It has been explained by FIA. But people with blinkers on just keep focussing on 48.12, but dont read any of the other regulations which gave Massi the authority to do what he did. So its not cheating, but Hamilton fan girls will never stop moaning about it, just like their fuhrer Toto.

Footballers can be GOAT, tennis players can be GOAT, golfers can be GOAT, runners, swimmers, etc can be GOAT. Having the fastest car, in the richest team, who knew V6 hybrid turbo car specs in advance to other teams, doesnt make you a GOAT, never.

I am sorry thats the nature of the sport and those who follow it have a list of great drivers from the past who all had different car advantages.
You have to understand that cars are not indistinguishable from their drivers. Engineers develop the cars with a lot of input from the drivers inc using engineering feedback.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets just ignore the fact then that Mercedes had a headstart which gave them their advantage, lets not forget then that Massa was robbed from a WDC as well. He is no GOAT,.

The decision not to bring Lewis in for a new set of tyres always had the opportunity to bite Merc on the arrse. F1 has moved on and it was the right decision to let the drivers race.
____________
Lewis was only 12-13 seconds ahead of Max. Mercedes couldn't have taken the decision to pit without taking the risk to lose position with only 3-4 laps to go.
Max could pit because he was 27 secs ahead of his team mate Perez. This is where Bottas could have helped if he was closer. If Bottas was behind Max, Max doesn't pit.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course had they known what Massi, RD was planning they would have. This is why it was incredibly unfair and clearly manipulated and Lewis himself said when he was overtaken by Max on fresh tyres.

What do you mean head start. Mercedes were nowhere before Lewis joined them from McLaren.

Hamilton gets a lot of stick from some quarters but that's how it is when you're the GOAT.
