Hamilton gets a lot of stick from some quarters but that's how it is when you're the GOAT.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also when you're British and great at something. We love finding something to hate our sporting high achievers for. Comes naturally to us.

Unfortunately with Lewis there is a bigger elephant in the room that some people can't get past.
Footballers can be GOAT, tennis players can be GOAT, golfers can be GOAT, runners, swimmers, etc can be GOAT. Having the fastest car, in the richest team, who knew V6 hybrid turbo car specs in advance to other teams, doesnt make you a GOAT, never.

Why does this seem to only apply to Lewis?...people act like the car drives itself.
So Ronaldo/Messi and every GOAT generally played in the best/richest teams but that doesn't affect their status does it?

Aye, I never heard the narrative that its the car not the driver with Michael Schumacher even-though his Ferrari was probably the most dominating car in history.

Such a tw@tish pair of comments. People disliked Schumacher, Senna, Vettel and every other driver... but with Hamilton it has to be something else. FFS. Dip your head in a bucket.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
calm down, before your head explodes..whether you agree or not it's there..and it's not the same 'dislike' as the other drivers.
Were they constantly described as 'woke' or similar terms in the papers, although it has nothing to do with racing....no.

If you say so. I was actually encouraged into the sport by Sir Frank Williams so maybe you are right and I can't tell the blatantly obvious.

Except he didnt cheat, he did what he did within the rules. It has been explained by FIA. But people with blinkers on just keep focussing on 48.12, but dont read any of the other regulations which gave Massi the authority to do what he did. So its not cheating, but Hamilton fan girls will never stop moaning about it, just like their fuhrer Toto.
--------------------------------------
Just because a loophole in the rules is used to do it, doesn't mean it's not cheating. Just means that wasn't Max personally whom cheated Lewis, it's was F1 as a body (granted not MV's fault). If MV was as good as you're all making out, then he wouldn't have needed any dodgy call to win it, he'd have just beaten Lewis. I mean the whole debate is about the fact he couldn't do it, he'd lost...again. Then officials stepped in and changed it so he'd won. The proof's kinda right there in what happened in front of you.
As for the two cars, can people please stop talking as though the Mercedes is flat out faster in all aspects of the race when it's not. The Mercedes has it in the straights but the red bull has a huge advantage cornering. And last time I checked Verstappen has never has his Red Bull cornering advantage switched off coming into a turn because Lewis is right behind him. So all of you just stop it, Verstappen hasn't even earned the right to be suggested in a "Better than the GOAT" conversation. Come back if he ever makes it to three titles. Maybe then you might actually have a case to make because this "He's as good as the GOAT but needed dodgy stewards to clinch it," argument isn't good enough
Paper champions don't qualify for "As good as the GOAT discussions. It's a multiple real titles entry requirement
A lot of people dislike Lewis because he's got a face you'd like to slap. It's got nothing to do with his race. Some people just prefer the no nonsense approach of other drivers.

Look whether you lot recognise it or not is besides the point. As someone who has come from a privileged background I have noticed the marked difference in the flack he gets compared to others. Its a point of contention and not really the discussion on this thread.
Nothing changes from the fact that RD interjected and did something never been done before that altered the race decision. Hamilton was comfortably winning the race before the SC. And after the SC was deployed the RD changed what he was planing to the point of ignoring the rulebook after a call from Horner. Whether this was deliberate on say-so of Liberty media or his own decision he has put a question mark next to Max this year that frankly he did not deserve. He would have been wiser next year probably won it more comfortably. Now I doubt that happens with other drivers, even his own paddock mates sniggering at whats happened.

Also, Hamilton was absolutely robbed, whether it was on purpose or per chance is another matter though.
He was gonna get an eighth straight title and put the GOAT debate to rest once and for all.
Having said that, he is still the GOAT in my book and has been a blessing, a revelation and a revolutionary to F1 in much the same way Tiger Woods was a blessing, a revelation and revolutionary to the sport of golf.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes but sadly for them they've done it as black/mixed race men in two of the whitest most elite sports on the planet. Which means their sports and a good percentage of the fans within them will now spend the next however many years is takes, desperately clamouring to find a white boy they can claim is better. F1 may be elitist but now it's slumming it down there with boxing and basketball. In that the search for the great white hope is on.
