Looks set to be a match up between a Wolves team weakened in attack by Jimenez being suspended against a Brighton team that has three centre backs, Dunk, Duffy and Webster all out injured
The rest will probably do Raul good. The expectation since his return has put him under massive pressure. It would be good to see him return to his best against Chelsea.
We win this one. Hopefully Hwang in the middle with Trincao and Podence either side
For the Wolves fans "crying out" to see Jimenez rested, this is the game they've been waiting for. Can Hwang play effectively as a central striker? Can we ripple the ole' onion bag without Raul?

Why on earth would you want to see Trincao start? We would be playing another game with 10 men.
Can we introduce standing order posts
for cinci to save him posting the same things every week this season.
On the match thread, Ait Nouri has been brilliant regardless of whether he has played good, bad or indifferent
On the previews, Traore shouldn't be in the team regardless of whether he has been playing good, bad or indifferent
Need to add that Spangles will have a pop at another poster onto that list too.
Interesting to see that Real Betis followed an annual traditionat their last home game before christmas yesterday by having fans throw teddy bears and other soft toys on to the pitch at half time to donate to local children's charities. Thousands of the things came raining down on to the pitch. Seems like a good idea. Just wonder what some english fans would end up throwing though
I don't rate Traore and wouldn't ever start him except for games where we employ counter attack tactics. Worth noting that Traore has played in two thirds of our minutes so far this season(926 of 1350) and we have scored 5 goals. We have scored 7 in the other 424.
As for Trincao, where has the sudden hate come from? He had a poor game last time he started but other than that he has been hot and cold like the rest. We have played well and won games with him this season.
Trincao is the new boo boy. Our fans have no patience for inconsistency from young players, so they become the target for their frustration.
A bit like Vitinha, MGW and Silva before him. History says that we will give him limited game time, then he will go on to be a success elsewhere.
Wolves U23s in action in the Premier League Cup this afternoon away at West Ham at their Rush Green training ground. Wolves have won all 3 of their games in their group in this competition and need one more result to qualify for the knock out stages. Unlikely they will get that today though. Wolves are in the second tier of the U23s league while West Ham are top of the top division. 0-0 at half time

There is no hate. I simply don'rt rate Trincao at all. In premier league games this season he has scored exactly the same number of goals as Traore and has the same number of assists. But at least Traore pulls defenses around and creates chances, Trincao just tries to be clever and runs into defenders who simply take the ball off him. He reminds me so much of Bright Enobakhare, loads of potential but clearly out of his depth at this level.
But who knows? I didn't rate Ait-Nouri either and he has improved massively in the last few games.
Trincao has hit the bar twice this season and also had a couple of chances cleared off the line. He also scored on the league cup. He has actually come closer to scoring this season than Traore on quite a few occasions.
Good result at 0-0 for the U23s team today against a West Ham team who were of an older average age and were top of the division above them. Entertaining game despite the score line with Wolves twice having goals disallowed and looking the more likely to take the win in the last 20 minutes. Hesketh looks a really good prospect, and after a long time out injured Bueno now looks back on his game and would make a good loan signing for someone.
Wolves academy have made a tie up with Arden Forest club who are one of these set ups that bring on local young players. Incredibly they have 39 operational teams with players from 6 years old.
Last season with the U23s nobody impressed me more than centre back Nigel Lonwijk and good to see he has now broken into his loan club first team, Fortuna Sittard from the Dutch top flight. Reports made him man of the match at the weekend and he scored the only goal in an away win
Man Utd and Villa the latest teams to have covid outbreaks with their midweek games under threat. Going to become a common theme I suspect.
The championship game between Sheffield Utd and QPR that was due to be shown on sky tonight is also off with QPR unable to field a team

Traore has also hit the bar and had 2 or 3 goalbound shots blocked by first class goalkeeping. Trincao scored in a 4-0 defeat of a very poor Nottingham Forest side. I'm sure if he was playing in the Championship he would be doing really well, but in my oinion, the prem is currently a step too high for him at the moment.
I do think Trincao is a decent prospect and could become a very good player. Don’t think he is ready for regular Premier League games at the moment. Hope we keep him for the rest of the season to see how he develops before deciding on a permanent signing.
Same with Hwang whose 4 goals early on were just what we needed. But in the last half dozen appearances he hasn’t scored and hasn’t played well.
Despite having one of the best front lines in the division, we are a team that creates next to nothing in the final third. All the talk about a different brand of attacking football, and moving on from Nuno’s defensive mindset, has proved to be just that; talk.
One goal in the last six since the 1st November? I don’t recall Nuno ever having such a poor run of results, even without our world class number nine.
Cant argue with that comment , got tickets for me and my son on Wednesday, he has just come back from New Zealand after two years great to spend time with him, hope it goes ahead, a few pints of Harvey’s before the game in Lewes is the plan
Do like a pint of Harvey’s.
Main thing to overcome on Wednesday is that it’s against our bogey team. We’ve played them 34 times in league matches and have only won 5

Pleasantly surprised to have tested negative after attending two indoor super spreader events in Manchester over the weekend.
Bruno had little choice I guess than to give Hwang, Podence and Traore a go. Maybe a chance to give Fabio some game time too late in the game. Hopefully we get numbers forward and have a go at them, I live in hope.
