How much is Leighton Baines worth?

A'll start the bidding at wan million

He was the standout leftback in the League last campaign.

I think the bottom line with any would-be transfer will be the Man City factor, if they want him, they'll pay whatever it takes.

Realistically, I'd say 15/16 million for Baines is realistic.

But Everton would understandably be reluctant to sell and would want probably more than the fee I quoted to be persuaded to let him go...

Man City will sign him for 40 million, with wages of 200, 000 a week just so Arsenal can't buy him. Eurgh, hate Man City so much.

I am confident he will be a City player soon

I don't understand why Mancini wants him, he already has Kolarov who can play there, Zabaleta too and Wayne Bridge and I think Boyata can play full back too?

Bridge is not good enough, Zaba is right footed, Boyata is inexperinced/maybe be loaned out... also SWP is supposed to be joing Everton.

Mancini sucks with transfers. I think even you would agree with me on that one?

Sadly I dont Silva, Yaya, Balotelli, AJ, Paddy V = all succeses.
Boateng = failure but will make a profit on him.
all the rest will come good.

Around £10-15m.

I can't see Everton getting any more for a 26 year old left back.

I wouldn't say Balotelli's exactly a success...not yet anyway
The rest were all good transfers but for each of them, you have the Bellamy's, the Bridge's, the Adebayor's, the Roque Santa Cruz's...I could go on...

What you all seem to ignore, does Baines want to move?

Can't buy/sell players who are happy where they are can you?

As for the price, well he is worth what anyone is willing to pay.

Good point, although I suspect he will want to move at some point for Champions League, whether it is this season or next, unfortunately for you. I actually quite like Everton, and I feel for your situation

Eboue
They were all Hughes signings that you mentioned, Dzeko and Kolarov will have a pre season at City and Milner will play more as a CM once we buy a winger.

Your right, my bad

posted on 12/6/11

why move for CL football? Your missing the point that only the best LB in the world keeps him out of the England X1.

However it will only be for United IF he goes in the future.

But no sign of him wanting to even consider leaving GP

Why do you say United ?

posted on 12/6/11

Local lad, stays local and they are the best team. Clear to see he is not motivated by money, so why chase it at City when United can give you glory?

Phil
Have you heard anything abou SWP to Everton?

posted on 12/6/11

True, although I hope that if he does move, then it is to Arsenal. I shudder at the idea of having Gibbs as our first-choice left back

Jose enrique, the newcastle player is a better option for us. He looks so solid and re-assured when defending and attacking.

Hello My Name Is Vermaelen

I'd rather see Baines at Arsenal, although I agree Jose Enrique is the more likely candidate

posted on 12/6/11

Baines will hold out for some ridiculous overvalued price, Enrique has less time on his contract and is clearly the more balanced and better player!

posted on 12/6/11

Nothing about the SWP rumour. Heis on a nice big deal, City will have to fund his wages if he comes.

Your all welcome to Enrique, keepaway from Baines
