Lukaku

Apparently the interview was a month ago which makes it all the more baffling because he was out injured. He’s since come back and put in two motm performances and is now on 5 goals in 8 pl starts. A great return.

I don’t know what to make of it all, but I know chelsea fans have questioned the tactics also so maybe it’s just a level of frustration and it’s blown out of proportion. Poor interview though and no need to mention it after 3 at the club

If he can go out and make his point on the pitch,Rom will be fine.

I don't know why Lukaku was brought back. He keeps professing that this is his home yet he runs off after a short while to whoever will take him. He's always had too much to say regarding himself and where he should be or where he wants to be yet he runs off and never settles at any club. He's doing the same thing now regardless of when this interview took place. He's just a petulant oaf. He's the same mouthy kid that arrived at Chelsea the 1st time around. Emulating Drogba etc etc. That's all bs. Chelsea need to stop fackin buying him back, once they let him go.

Tuchel's not happy either (and confused).

What is Lukaku playing at?

Played great the other day... despite this I still wonder why we got him back.... let's see how this pans out

I think he’s been very good considering the injury and covid and that we have imo struggled to find him in certain games. However, I have never been the biggest fan and not sure if he was worth the money.

However part 2, I don’t think my heart could have taken another year of watching Werner and havertz up front

Lukaku seems mentally all over the place, got himself in a “ dark hole” with us primarily from being out of shape and not be able to trap a football, moves to Inter who he apparently loves and wants a new contract with but will still leave them if Barca, Real or Bayern come in for him but does get his boyhood dream move back to Chelsea which from the outside seems to have gone ok .

He is obviously a very intelligent multi lingual guy who surely must know how damaging the comments he is making are and disrespectful considering the huge fee to bring him to Chelsea and the huge wages to realise his “ boyhood dream”, he seems like a child who got the wrong present at Christmas, he is a big mate of our child Pogba, again never happy, always probing a new deal with his tw@t agent, when you look at the suffering many people and firms are going through right now in a pandemic this pair can feck right off and won’t be missed.

Lukaku:

"I'm in a moment in which I believe the manager can make me play more but I respect his choices. I just have to keep working and wait for my moment".

"Tuchel and I are trying to find a tactical system where we can "find" each other - a way to help the team because the situation [PL table] is a bit complicated. He made his choice - I keep working, at a certain point I'll speak with Tuchel and we will see the situation".

“I’m always thinking about Milano, Milano, Milano... Inter fans are the best in the world. I love the city and the best moment of my career was at Inter. I am in love with Italy - I have Inter in my heart”

“Why was the honeymoon with Inter over? I've been a supporter of Chelsea since I was a kid, it's my favorite team. Then I went to Chelsea at 18 and it wasn’t working - so I always had that Chelsea mission/challenge in my head”.

“In summer 2020 I turned down an offer from Manchester City. It was a higher offer than Chelsea's one. I refused because I couldn't leave Inter after just one year - it's the club that saved my career when I was feeling bad at Manchester United”.

"Last summer I went to talk to the Inter board and I asked for a new contract. I said: I'm 28, I wanted to plan my life in Italy with a new deal... but Inter said no. Maybe there wasn't the economic possibility. For me it was difficult to accept”.

“There are 3 teams at top level: Barcelona, Real, Bayern. All the players dream of them, that's the truth. I thought I was going to one of those clubs after Inter".
"This didn’t happened and I said: there is only one club where I can imagine myself, it's Chelsea”.

"I miss Lautaro Martinez, I could die on the pitch for him since day one I met him"

"Lautaro Martinez coming here with me at Chelsea in the future? No... Lautaro, you can stay in Milan, I'll be back there (laughs)".

"If there had been the offer of a new contract from Inter last summer as I wanted... we would not be doing this interview now here from London, but quietly from Milano (he smiles)".

Bang on Mr. C, and good to see you commenting again mate.

Lukaku for me has always been a flat track bully. Good at playing with the schoolkids in the playground, scoring 20 or so goals a game and then believing that he is Ronaldo or Messi but when he comes up against the likes of VVD or someone of that ilk he goes missing. Compares himself to Drogba but the difference is that the bigger the game or opponent the more Drogs would be determined to impose himself on them. This bloke is just the opposite, a shrinking violet.

When has he compared himself to Drogba?

posted on 31/12/21

He has often said that he wanted to emulate Drogba and Drogba has been a mentor to him, particularly when they were both at the Club at the same time. I saw the evidence at the time as obviously did Mr. Chelsea also.

Hi Summer, nice to hear from you mate. Its been a while. Hope you and everyone else are doing OK.

Nice to see all the old crew are still about.

This was a fleeting visit however just to express my annoyance at Lukaku and his inability to keep his mouth shut. Sometimes just staying quiet is better than blurting out whatever comes to your mind. He'd do well to learn that. Mind you, many players would do well to learn that. Namely that Bruno fella at Man Utd. He's another one. Verbal diarrhea about his own importance, that doesn't match his on the pitch performances.

Very disappointing. I can totally understand him feeling a sense of regret over how he left Inter, but phrasing it like that in public just lacks respect for both us & Inter fans.

He's a really intelligent, well spoken guy as well, makes it even more disappointing that he could be as unprofessional as this.

It's not exactly the first time a footballer has given an interview to a foreign source to have their words hacked to pieces in translation and end up showing themselves in a bad light. It's a neat media trick.
