High time a charging offence similar to Basketball was brought into football. All to often now we see situations where strikers and forwards are manufacturing penalties by simply running straight into defenders to make contact then throwing themselves on the ground crying pen. It's actually quite easy to spot these in replay since with certain players it's often clear before the even make their run that the door is shut but a set defender.

Used to be players open played, skilled but now the chosen way to beat defenders has become the Vardy special/Sterling splash, manufactured penalty. Rule simply needs to be harsher and more absolute. Diving is cheating and cheaters get red cards. Changed the card to a red, enforce with a vengeance quickly (so match day reds with FA panel Mon to check all pens issued and retrospectively ban panel decided divers). Two weeks tops and no more diving. The risk has to outweigh the potential reward and a near guaranteed 3 match ban for trying it would see to that.

Yup, referees

City paid the referees to get all the key decisions correct?

Why haven't the FA thought of that?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If they'd got all the key decisions correct then City would have been awarded a yellow card for a dive, not a penalty.

You're deluding yourself.

It was a nailed on penalty. Silva was fouled twice.

You're seeing what you want to see.

Justice was done. The officials got all of the key decisions correct.

City won fair and square.

You have no class and apparently no shame either.

How exactly was Silva fouled?

First there was a leg in his way which was pulled back so it never touched him then there was the slightest tug on his shirt as he had already thrown himself to the ground ala Tom Daley, commonly referred to as a dive.

Talking about diving, has Odegaard re-entered the Earth's atmosphere yet?

Maybe Arsenal should write another 'secret' letter to try and get City banned.

The last one went well.

MOTD's analysis on this type of thing is more often than not s|-|ite or failing that, non-existent. Much like the BBC website they will skip things out entirely to protect the corruption that is/are the Premier League/Referees.

Even Garth Crooks knows the score:

Nathan Ake: The clearance off the line by Nathan Ake against Arsenal was quite brilliant and a game changer. I have seen Ake produce moments like this before when he was playing for Bournemouth. He has proved to be a very cool customer in these situations.

Gabriel could take a note out of Ake's book when it comes to keeping a cool head. Why Arsenal were so aggrieved by Gabriel's sending off I don't know. He was caught on camera deliberately disturbing the penalty spot with his boot, a most despicable dirty trick, and then chases down the referee to tell him why his penalty decision was wrong. Then he intentionally blocked Gabriel Jesus after the City striker turned the Arsenal defender on the halfway line.

Gabriel is a good defender but totally lost it against Manchester City.
