14 scored, 4 against - unbelievable given our first 8 games.
The blokes a genius, if he somehow wins us the League cup and gets top 4 this year then Levy should just give Conte a blank cheque book and take a couple of years off.
He is a guy who really understands what a team needs and what it doesn't. It may not look it at times with certain subs but in the longterm he knows what he is doing. Yesterday he was spot on speaking about the lack of good final balls. That is what stopped us from winning that game comfortably.
The guy knows his stuff, no doubt.
He, like us, knows exactly where the main problems are, and that a creative, dominant centre MF player is our first priority. Second being to move on the players we all know are just not good enough to play a part in Conte's project.
But.......as usual, the one big stumbling block with this very obvious need is........Mr Levy.
If, like me, you heard Conte recently say "I am waiting for a meeting with Levy" then it appears the usual problem still exists.
If Levy does what he always does, then this guy, the best thing to happen to Spurs in a long time, WILL walk, and frankly can any of us blame him for doing so ?

He’s doing a solid job so far - although not sure I’d go quite as far as calling our back line formidable! Dier is having a really good season, but Sánchez and Davies still have a balls up in their locker. They have Skipp and PEH in front of them which helps but comes at a cost of creativity going forward - we deffo need to look at getting an Eriksen or Coutinho type in there somehow, even if it means going two up top.
Names most being bandied around the rumour mill are Vlahovic, Kessie, Lamptey, Coutinho and Griezman. Of those only Kessie seems likely to me, and that would be on a pre-contract. The lad at MK Dons also being mentioned. We have Romero to come back at the end of Jan which will be a bonus. New contract for Hugo is a must, we can’t afford to lose him at all, nevermind on a free.
But yes, to go back to the OP, Conte has done a great job so far not just with the 18 points from 24 and five clean sheets, but the purposeful style of play, the obvious motivation and the improvement in all of our in-game stats that were so pitifully abject under Nuno.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dier is just as capable of having his balls up moments as the other 2, like when he got it horribly wrong at the end of the Southampton game and Sanchez bailed him out with a covering tackle. The good thing is there is a lot more consistency in all of them, although admittedly they haven't had too many big tests under Conte.
He has undoubtedly done a good job so far and hopefully things keep improving, but lets not go too overboard just yet, he got lucky yesterday in a game that we should have been cruising. There were plenty of fans on the match thread criticizing him for not making changes and using the likes of Ndombele etc to try and move the Watford bus. Lets see how things pan out, there are bigger tests to come and the big problem of Levy.
Whilst I am happy with Conte Don, let`s not go to overboard just yet, especially with the set of Spurs players he currently has under him. Most of them are still absolutely mentally weak when push comes to shove. The need to overcome Chelsea over two legs of the Carabou, and then follow that up with getting positive results against Arsenal and Chelsea in the league. Beating the likes of Norwich, Watford, Leeds, Brentford, Palace etc should be a given for any Spurs manager. Competing with Liverpool was a good result, but they should have gone the extra mile in that game and finished Liverpool off before they scored, and with 10 men for the last 15 minutes, I am sure Liverpool would have finished Spurs off, but Spurs as usual let them off the hook.
I am expecting progress with Conte, but not necessary with this set of players, still need two or three players of real quality to really compete at the very top.

5 clean sheets in the last 8 tells you otherwise mate. If that’s not formidable at the moment, what is ? No doubt there are mistakes in that. I’m the biggest critic of Sanchez and Dier on here, but Conte has found a system that actually works and has given the platform for certain players on the way out to really improve. We have a lot of work to do, but Conte is moving the club forward

Trust me, I’m the first to bash Levy and Enic in a flash, but that comment from Ally Gold was taken out of context. If you read his full article, he explains this was said to Nuno at the start. We are in a completely different era now under Conte who has evaluated the squad and we should be able to raise some funds by selling. Conte has said he wants reinforcements, Levy has no choice but to back him now

Sandy we were never winning those games under Nuno, not a hope in hell and we certainly wouldn’t be 8 games unbeaten in the league. You can talk about easy games all you like mate, but the main thing is the performances are miles better under Conte. We are controlling games which we weren’t before. We have never controlled Liverpool in years like we did the other week. That’s down to Conte mate.
Conte is the best 343 or 352 manager in the world. The players have a clear role in the team and know where to move from the first phase build until the second progression phase of play with intensity.
Your last two managers used tactical periodisation which means your players did less running. The only time they did run with intensity was when there was some tactical movement in possession and out of possession.
๐ฎ๐น Conte has done great since he came in. The most impressive thing he has done is making the squad fitter and making us more solid at the back without Romero.
Davies, Sanchez and Dier all have an error in them. Dier against West Ham is a classic example. But now that he has done his evaluations I'm really looking forward to seeing the squad at the start of February.
Lots of big games coming up with the Semi's against Chelsea then the NLD! COYS ๐ฎ๐น

This is such BS.
AG spouts more rubbish than he gets things right.
Also, It is never going to come out of a meeting that the manager has a big budget because selling clubs will just charge more. Its always the other way around and the club will feed the media whatever suits them

Best signings we can get are the free or pre transfers for the summer.
