To the hip clinic, it turns out. 😕
Thiago Alcantara is expected to begin his rehabilitation programme on a hip injury on Monday, but Jürgen Klopp isn’t anticipating a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
The No.6 hasn’t figured in Liverpool’s last three matches due to the issue, but the problem isn’t thought to be a long-term one.
Asked during his post-Shrewsbury Town press conference about speculation Thiago could be out until the end of the season, Klopp said: “No, neither March nor [the] end of the season is in my mind.
“It is something around the hip, that is the situation and it needs time now. He didn’t train this week but we expect him to be back to do rehab stuff from tomorrow on and then we will see.
“No, it is not that he is out until the end of the season, not at all.”
Hands down one of the biggest flops we have signed in a long time ..
Crocked injured , and slow and labored when he does play a match or 2
Him and keits should be moved on i.m.o

Btw where was jota today? Was he given time off or does he also have Covid?

Both play quite well when they play. Bin players because they get injured?
Our win record with Thiago in team is insane. He has been missed but he is very injury prone. You have to accept he is a 20-25 games a season player.

We've missed Thiago badly in recent games. Without him we dropped points against Spurs and Leicester.
Have you been watching our games. He's been our best midfielder this season. Keita done well when playing.
Thiago playing coincides with us completely dominating games and winning comfortably.
He also puts in a lot of effort and sacrifices himself for the team in challenges. I'm very happy with him and he will be vital in the CL latter stages hopefully.
thiago is alright. he's the only guy who can play on the half turn and it makes a big difference.
however he's aging and very injury prone now and for 200k a week its not great is it?
We need to start thinking carefully about this midfield

Id agree its the area that needs to be looked at for the long term most urgently but im pretty relaxed that the club will do just that.
People keep going on about this squad aging but the club are aware of it. They have brought jota in up top, konate in at the back and id fully expect a young midfielder this summer. We have a brilliant squad, we only need tweaks here and there. I quite like our approach of adding 1 or 2 that are real quality as opposed to our old scatter gun approach where 6 or 7 would come in with only maybe half cutting it.
Jude Bellingham i bet is klopps No1 target....you wait

not sure its at the level of tweaking at this point.
Its not a rebuild but it is getting there as we are allowing the club to age
GK: perfect
RB: Doing ok, willimas might go and bradley is young
LB: looking good.
RCb: very good if gomez is happy
LCB: konate being able to back up VVD makes this good
no 6: fabinho looking slower, but no real back up. Morton is too yuong yet
No 8s: issues here. lack of running especially. elliott is the future but not sure if jones is the right balance if elliott plays. work to do here as henderson, milner, ox, keita and thiago don't offer those legs (any more sadly)
Rw: Salah and no back up. gordan is 17.
CF: for me its firmino and ?
LW: mane and jota. quite good.
We need more than a 1 or 2 player tweak now, 3 players this summer imo. Forward, CM and imo DCM option.

Next to no chance we get anyone in January. I think it’s all about judging the perfect timing for bringing new players in. If we have ambitions of maintaining the quality we currently have, then the replacements won’t be cheap, and I doubt they’ll want to play second fiddle to our current players for too long. Which imo, is the main reason we’ve been fairly quiet in the market.
Yea i seen that kash...thought that was a bit strange alright

Id agree its the area that needs to be looked at for the long term most urgently but im pretty relaxed that the club will do just that.
People keep going on about this squad aging but the club are aware of it. They have brought jota in up top, konate in at the back and id fully expect a young midfielder this summer. We have a brilliant squad, we only need tweaks here and there. I quite like our approach of adding 1 or 2 that are real quality as opposed to our old scatter gun approach where 6 or 7 would come in with only maybe half cutting it.

not sure its at the level of tweaking at this point.
