“Our story tomorrow will be written by the next generation, who made history this year when the EDS and U18 teams won their respective leagues, meaning Manchester City hold the titles at all three levels of the men’s game.”
That's encouraging.

bbc article wrong, mcfc annual report correct, as for you being a little jobsworth be!!end, also correct.
ok so the KPMG report that had you finally overtaking united is wrong.
noted, thanks for the editorial redaction of this article!
On city not making a profit, that was the question from j!zz, keep up.
So with 19/20 and 20/21 counting as a single season for FFP. And city sitting at a combined 122m loss, are we expecting a miraculous 90m profit next season so they avoid FFP again?
I mean after a record season surely it’s perfectly normal to assume they can grow a record year to 50 times profit growth next season.
On the whole "big club" thing and honestly not a dig at Man U, but if a team doesn't win anything for how long do they stay big?
Sunderland for instance were once a "big club" and have far more domestic success than Newcastle say, but would anyone seriously say Sunderland are a big club now?
So if say Man U or Chelsea or whoever go 10 years with no trophy and no CL football when if ever does a "big team" stop being big?
Manchester is blue.
It can no longer be disputed.

There’s a bit of a difference between not winning anything and/or not getting CL football for 10 years compared to dropping out of the top flight (and struggling to even get out of the third tier) for a similar period of time.
The term “sleeping giant” is one that doesn’t seem to be used much any more, but certain clubs do fall into that category. Sunderland and Newcastle (currently) can certainly both be regarded as such.
RipleysCat
Or can I call you Jonesy?
Fair points, but still interested in when you go from a "big club" to a "sleeping giant"?
Jonesy is fine!
Well a sleeping giant is still really regarded as a big club. Specifically referring to a big club that is unsuccessful on the pitch for a sustained period of time.
The term big club really refers to the size of the fanbase. So it usually only really applies to clubs from big cities, or that have a big catchment area. That status alone can end up attracting fans from further afield (and that is expanded when such a club does experience success on the pitch).
Bit of a misleading article tbf. The only reason this happened was because Match Day revenue was down massively due to the pandemic with no fans and we make far more money than City per home game.

Our revenue was impacted far worse than yours as we have more fans and our tickets are more expensive.
It won't be repeated next year unless there's another lockdown.

I'm 50, been a regular (then season ticket holder) at West Ham for over 35 years, but until I met a Sunderland fan at Uni I had no idea of there history. Man City yes, but Sunderland could have been Corinthians for all I knew.
Eventually even history forgets.
OK read that back, not slept in 36 hours, I sound like a pretentious prat.

In terms of total trophies won, we eclipsed Everton a few years ago.
Whereas since 2013 United have won the same number of PL titles as Everton, and don't look likely to win one anytime soon. Not a team others fear to face any more than they would Everton.
