Trying to find that daft stat about Leeds not signing a midfielder for 200 and something weeks.....anyone got it?
Will be a bit disappointed if Summerville leaves. Squad is already pretty thin
Outwood, am I right in saying Summerville wants
a permanent move out? I swear I read that? So,
much false click bait floating around though.
If reports are true, it looks like it

You're missing the point. The point is, after having it rammed down our throats that deals can't be done in January, other clubs do.
And reports last night suggested Man U are picking up the wages. No loan fee. Palace give van de Beek give games. Man U's willingness to do that was reported to be that they want to keep him so that the new manager can assess him in the summer. That was last night's report: Palace get a good centre mid for nothing.

I don't think people are saying that deals are hard to come by in January. I think they are saying that good deals are hard to come by in January.

Couldn't find the article but Forshaw was our last permanent midfield signing (Baker was loan) Forshaw signed on Jan 19th 2018 which is;
4 years and 1 week
209 weeks
1468 days
Staggering that we got promoted almost twice and finished 9th in the Premier League.

Amazing and thanks Shaun.
Isnt Rodrigo a midfielder? He plays there!
January signings are always a kind of "panic buy" to cover a shortfall somewhere due to injury or some other reason. That is why they seldom turn out to be good business (eg as stated on here JKA)
Clubs will not let their good assets go as they are needed for their own ambitions (winning something or avoiding relegation).
You therefore end up looking at out of favour types who cannot get a game and are short of fitness, confidence etc.
The real cause of our problems is injuries, it is another debate as to why we have so many. The other is not addressing our lack of options in midfield in the summer. We put all our eggs in the Philips and Forshaw basket and hoping that one or both would be available all season. The lack of a creative midfielder (a la Pablo) was not tackled either. We blew the budget bringing in another winger DJ.
I hope and pray that once these injured players come back we start to play like we know we can and climb the table.
