I thought Liverpool were in for Eriksen too. That was quite the coup getting him at the time IIRC
If and buts aside, we really needed a striker in. Could've been another Llorente and that would've been alright. Eg Morata

Equally, let's not have an open bus top parade singing about how we've upgraded the squad.
4 out, 2 in. Let's see if there's a difference. Everyone knows where I sit with it now so lets see if I'm proved wrong. Happy to come on here and apologise if so. No problem with that but there's often an overoptimism about new signings. I remember being sceptical about Doherty and posted an article on it...

Fair enough, I am very confident given what Conte has achieved in the first 10 league games, now he has 2 more players he actually wanted and Romero back - which is the cliche- like a new signing.

Not sure I understand the question, Edin. Chris' point was that we did good business cos you can't sign the top players in Jan.. while saying that Kulusevski was a top creative player (better than what we had anyway).
----------------------------------------------------------------------
‘ And to your point above, Chris, if he's so good how come he was available? ‘.
My point is that a players availability and quality are not directly comparable. We have signed plenty of quality players quite easily who were very available.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not necessarily directly, no. But usually, yes. Supply and demand n all that. Diaz was available but demand saw us miss out.
Kulusevski was available but wasn't in such high demand.. logic tells you he's not as good as Diaz.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
not comparing the two as players but we were the only ones going for Eriksen when we signed him, so demand doesnt mean much
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vdv, Eriksen, Lloris, Reggie etc etc
Yeah lloris is the obvious one

Good window if you think of it as the first step to a new, refreshed squad. The two new players bring effort and backbone into the squad and should allow Conte some tactical flexibility, in turn that may mean less emphasis on attacking RB etc.
This break will have given the players some mental rest and the squad is a little healthier - I'm feeling positive for a good end to the season
Starting line up vs Brighton:
Lloris
Sanchez Dier Davies
Royal Holjberg Skipp Reguilon
Kulu Kane Moura
Subs: Bentacur,Son, Bergwijn,Romero,Winks, Doherty, Gollini
Though Conte may possibly start Bentacur, Son & Romero...
At least the bench looks stronger... though Winks, Doherty & Gollini need updating in the Summer
Graham Roberts is suggesting that we try Lucas Moura at RWB... I wouldn’t be adverse to that...

Son is back in full training. Just need Bentancur(playing Venezuela), Sanchez and Romero(they play against each other tonight) to come back in one piece and Conte will have a fully fit squad available for Brighton.
I would swap Kulu for Stevie B in your line up.
