Both Napoleon and Hitler made the mistake of fighting on 2 fronts and both armies were hit insanely hard by the cold which made them weak by the time they ended up actually fighting.

Things would be quite different with modern technology.

This is a great test case for China's eventual reclamation of Taiwan
