It’s a war, in Europe, that’s enough.

Oh yes absolutely but its not going to involve us directly fighting russians which could lead to horiffic consequences. It will be most likely similar to when they annexed crimea. They will do the same with the donbas regions. Russia would need a hell of a lot more troops if they wanted to invade and occupy the entire ukraine

Probably best to fill up today.

I'm expecting not really any response from the west other than a few so called "sanctions" that are closer to a slap on the wrist

I'm probably hugely naive but I sort of can't imagine how a physical war pans out these days. Obviously in the old days you had invasions, trench warfare, gaining territories, army 1 vs army 2 with gun batlles etc.

Feels like technology is so advanced nowaways that none of that would be needed, it would simply be controlling massive missiles from miles and miles away and it would all be very quick and totally devestating.

'War' just seems like an outdated concept or am I being stupid here?

Well apart from the tanks and troops already moving in, I suspect a long proxy war involving “the west” and plenty of cyber war activity that Russia is so good at.

I think there would still be ground warfare, I don't think anyone would use the "last resort" because of MAD.

The difference being that ground forces would just be used to secure regions now, the biggest change with warfare now is drone strikes and sattelite intel. Troops will roll in to pretty much conquered regions, rather than taking them like they used to.

But I think the western response will be pretty limp diiiiicked.

I feel for the Ukrainian people. There’s going to be plenty of lost lives all because of Putin being a megalomaniac.

As ridiculous as this sounds it's quite interesting timing for Russia to pull a move like this.

For years dirty Russian money has been buying its way into the UK, funding Brexit and the Tory party in particular.

Everyone can see the head of the Tory government isn't fit for purpose, he should be sacked (resigning is way too good for him). From there the party would be in turmoil and while the replacements are equally corrupt, nasty and unsuitable for office they lack the buffoonish personally that many cuckhold little Britainers swoon over.

This potential war certainly provides a distraction...

Yep, need to hear more about dirty Russian money and donations to the Tories.

Labour M P taking money from the Chinese and having the donors son working in his office in the commons

I really don’t trust any of them tbh

Putin is a bully and he’s flexing his muscles

The Russian economy isn’t in a great state and he’s trying to look big in front of the Russian people.

There will be lots of casualties on both sides if this kicks off sadly.

No, you'r not. Modern warfare involves whose rockets can reach their targets before the the other side's rockets can reach theirs. Either way, there won't be much of the world left.

Corruption may well be within both parties but it's like comparing a kid stealing a few pennies sweets with Harold Shipman and saying "I don't trust either of them, they're both criminals"

Let’s face it most M P’s are in it for themselves not for us but I’m sure there are some very good ones on all sides.

Putin has filled his pockets with money he’s taken from the Russian people and he’s also ordered hits on people in this country.

Unfortunately the amount of very good ones you could count on one hand. The vast majority (and they're the same over here) are in it for themselves and nothing else

Honestly I wish voters would just look around them rather than just suck in what Rupert Murdock wants them to think

This country is in a terrible state. People choosing between eating and heating ffs

12 years is too long for any party to be in power and it’s time for a change.
