Why are we all jumping to conclusions based on presuppositions and assumptions?
Bielsa may have initiated a conversation to leave.
He may have determined that, with these players, his methods are not working but his principles must remain, and therefore Leeds United needs to seriously consider whether to replace him.
He may know that without Bamford and Phillips until the last 3 games, his system is stunted, he is unable to bring in players to replace, and we will probably be in the relegation zone and doomed by then.
So his principles, in looking at the situation, may demand him to offer his own sacrifice.
On the other hand, football is a results-based arena and Bielsa has not committed to us for the long term, so if we went down without attempting something different, the Board would be culpable. Naive.
Our Board has been utterly principled with Bielsa. That is why he has re-signed to us each year and this club is where he has remained longest as a manager.
If the Board was not to bring in a Bielsa to ask him how he plans to turn things round - continuing to do the same things and expect different results? - I think Bielsa would lose confidence in them.
If the discussions have been had and the decision made rationally, I see no reason for emotional outbursts. Celebrate the man who brought us such joy, and accept that such joys are always fleeting.
Completely agree. It’s been handled very badly.
The board have had an absolute shocker. The likes of phil hay also haven’t helped.
Imagine us doing our business on Talksport first! So shabby it can’t be true! We couldn’t show our lack of class to such a man of sporting and social integrity as start to sever our links in such a classless way… ridiculous

LST, I couldn't agree with you more. Now is the time to keep calm and await for confirmation either way. As a 65 year old, I've learned the hard way not to jump to conclusion from titbits on the news. It could be that both parties agree a parting of the ways is the best for Leeds United Football Club. We don't know as yet.
The silence is palpable, it's pretty typical of how the club have treated it's supporters over big issues in recent years. There's a press feeding frenzy going on based on, as I can see it, speculation on Talk Cr&p Radio. Nobody knows for certain exactly what is happening.
I am puzzled on one thing though, where is the article from thedong entitled "Mushrooms".
Talk Sport are just the Sun of radio. Mind you all media has been shown up for how bad they are since the referendum and Covid. Bad news makes money and click bait is a big moneymaker. They don’t give a fig who it hurts.
Take Talk Crap with a large pinch of reality. They are not even worth the electricity.
Would echo LUST here:
"With no official confirmation from the club about the future of Marcelo Bielsa, we have been in touch to ask for clarity & asked for a call with the board.
We’re urging the club to communicate clarity with fans & show Marcelo the respect his tenure deserves".
Rumours would always come out but Phil Hay was tweeting it minutes after the final whistle. Disgusting way to treat a great man
12pm elland road east stand to show your support for Marcelo Bielsa
A lot of focus on AK and AR but for me this has the 49's investment group lurking in the shadows all over it and evenmoreso if their countryman Marsch takes over.
For what it is worth my head tells me it would be the correct decision but there are ways to go about things and they are falling well short of what should be expected and from a class and dignity point of view not fit to lace Bielsa's boots.
Absolutely agree with that Rob, particularly your first point. The Yanks are buying a PL club, aren't they? The money has spoken.
He’s gone! Official statement out on Twitter.
Sad, sad day for our club and fans!

Why?
Because when he was asked if he could turn things around, his answer was short and left no doubt:
"Of course"
Jonty - that’s a reflexive response to a camera that is designed for the audience. He also stated he will not change and will stick to his methods.
He was utterly defeated in that interview - I put up a thread saying so as soon as I had watched it live on BT Sport. The match pundits then said exactly the same.
It’s imports you look at everything, not merely consider the words people use
Bielsa doesn't do anything designed for the audience.
He wasn't defeated at all. He took the reporter to task and in typical Bielsa fashion explained himself making the reporter look a complete imbecile.
