Get the factor 50 out and get down New Brighton Front!!!!
Maybe he has a death wish because he knows he’s losing credibility all around the world, certainly looks a bit of a loose canon now
There was a professor on the radio who was explaining that the Russians don’t see nukes as a line not to cross. They just see them as bigger weapons that will be used if needed. This will certainly get scarier before it gets better.
I hope that professor is talking out his aynus. I can only think of twice in history that the line has indeed been crossed, and it definitely wasn't the Russians.
Even a small nuke would invoke immediate retaliation. It's difficult to see many ways back in from the cold for Russia, with the exception of Putin being removed by the upper echelons of Russian power.
We are running out of ways to de-escalate especially as the civilian casualties in Ukraine increase.
We’re closer to WW3 than we have been since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Some analysts who know about these things say that WW3 has begun and this is just the very early days. Ukraine will fall and if Putin wants to take Kallingrad then that will be the trigger point for the West to join in.
It won’t be nukes on cities first. As you say it’ll be tactical nukes on the battlefield and eventually if things get out of hand they’ll progress to the Russian strategy of nuking cities of 50k and more people.
Let’s just hope that the financial cost of war in Ukraine is so vast Putin is put off from going any further.
I reckon he will be taken out by one of his own before we get to that scenario.
(When I say take Kallingrad I mean take connect Kallingrad to the rest of Russia)
Some analysts who know about these things say that WW3 has begun
---------
How many World Wars have they successfully predicted for them to be considered to 'know about these things'?

As in they know about the makings of world wars from history which begin from things like what are happening now. And the analyst I read was someone who worked in the White House for both the democrats and republicans as a Russia expert for over a decade.
Not saying she’s 100% correct and I hope not but it’s certainly a very scary time.
Think some people have been watching and digesting too much information on this war so far. To many what if scenarios playing out in the media. The end of the world doom mongers love a crisis like this.
Let’s focus on the here and now and actual facts rather than go on about nuclear Armageddon and world war 3 as that’s not doing any one’s anxiety any good

Bloody hope so. People there clearly seem scared of him but there are surely very powerful people with everything to lose who can slip him some poisonous tea.
I don't think Putin will go nuclear at all. The projections coming out of UK/US intelligence now are that the war could drag on for years.

Will definitely know a lot more than any of us, but it also sounds like she might very much have an agenda to push too, Robb.
I'd imagine there've been a load more conflicts that might have started out similarly and not escalated into all out World Wars. Considering there've only been two of them, like.
Russia are lucky they have nukes as their army is clearly subpar. It would get obliterated by NATO so unless Putin has lost his mind he would be stupid to try and take one of the Baltic states. Maybe he thinks the West don’t have the appetite for war and will try and presume NATO won’t step up even though they’re duty bound.
I think a Cold War is more likely than a Third World War. There’s just too much for the stakeholders to lose for a nuclear war to break out.

Oh totally. I think what the west are doing at the minute right now is pretty smart. Hit them where it hurts….Money. Well apart from us of course.
I doubt very much there are many Russians that want this war.

Possibly but it really depends on Russia’s next move. If they try and take a NATO country then WW3 is very likely. If they stop at Ukraine and carve the country up and give most of it away to other countries then maybe people will eventually move on and he’ll have achieved his aim of eliminating Ukraine.
Nah there be no world war out of this. I expect put will have ukrain within 2 weeks and then he will prob out in place his puppet and then withdraw
The ‘best’ case scenario will be if there is some sort of peace deal if Zelenskyy sues for peace and they split Ukraine in two and let him rule half of it and the fighting stops. Or something like that.
