The players are proven at Rangers, the manager is not

To not trust Roofe for instance, puzzling

I think you being harsh on GvB. He has inherited a squad. January is a tough market and he maybe had minimal input to the signings? How many windows until it clicked for Gerrard?

I have my doubts about GvB. He's picked up a lot of the Advocaat stubbornness it seems but without the millions of pounds to buy the necessary to make it happen.

I don't think he'll get many windows to build in his image if he can't win. People often forget Gerrard took over a squad that was a total mess and going into last couple games of season could have finished fourth and actually finished third. Gio is starting from a much stronger position than Gerrard did.

But I've not given up on him. I'm just a bit concerned.

The team was toiling when Gerrard left, Gio came in and we went on a great run of form and results, then the dreaded winter break came early and momentum was lost. Also when Jack and Helander are missing, we are distinctly weaker.

If this season is a Match GVB came on just before the half time break.

When Gerrard's team was starting to come apart.

More or less like Lennon - a panic appointment.

Lennon did win the Treble tho.

Both of us are scheidt imo.

posted on 2/3/22

Disagree, Lennon took over an all conquering side and kept it going. We were floundering big time when Gio came in.

But expectations are also higher, maybe too high?

posted on 2/3/22

Definitely higher expectations. I'm not sure they're too high though.

Definitely not too high.

Win the league from 1st place with a 4 point lead against a new Celtic team. All we asked of him. If he doesn't win it, we should not start next season with him in charge.

do that with a team of players that are not ideally suited to his way of playing. The team were defo on the slide when he took over even the player were saying so. The target is to win the league yes of course it always is. He has already performed better than expected in europe.

Last night was a stinking game... that surface was a joke, i dont think the ball rolled at any point in the game. Just bouncing all over the place, did the saint cut the park up before we played ?? cos it was atrocious.

Expectation not too high to win the league but you are on track to do that. Maybe not as on track as we are but on track nevertheless. The pressure is getting to too many on both sides.
