No but best form of defence is attack, and if earnshaw was playing yesterday we'd have won 3-0.

Earnshaw was hardly prolific last season.

I think Miller/Derbysire/Findley will come good, the whole teams confidence is shot to pieces at the moment.

last 7 games we have conceeded 21 goals. Thats 3 a game. Can't win games like that. we need defenders.

loan out greening and reid, get 3 or 4 cheaper loans in.

I'm not saying thats the answer, but we are obviously restricted to the loan market at the moment, and might have to loan out player to get some in.

Surely replacing manager and defensive coach , should sort the defence out, its the same players as last year?

Or is it the poor midfield and lack of goals thats putting the defence under increased pressure?

Our defensive cover has been so limited for a few years now. If a player is not on form, then he still plays as there is no alternative. Also, defence is an area where we have no reinfoirced since league one. we have gained Gunter, and lost Wilson, Perch and now Cohen (not a denfender i know).

Money will clearly have to come out of Doughty's pocket.

Letting Wilson move was a bad idea. Many of us have been harping on about defensive cover for ages. But Chambs, Wes and Campy don't become rubbish overnight. Clearly 4 things were wrong:

1. Defensive Coaching - Zonal marking?
2. Greening is muck.
3. Captaincy issues between Camp and Chambers.
4. Contract extensions for Camp, Chambers, Wes.

Camp should have a arm band if he signs a new contract. I'm just worried that he is trying to get a move away, in which case he should definitely not have the armband. Chambers shouldnt, as its affecting him too much. I'd actually give it to Hill. I know it sounds a bit crazy, but the worry with loans is that their heart isnt in it as they are only a loan. Giving him the armband will really get him up for it, and he'll give it all. Then we re assess at Christmas. Crazy thought?

Hmm...not too sure. Mcgugan has a habit of looking a bit uninterested sometimes. not exactly setting an example. And i am not sure Moose is a leader, dont think he'd want it.

but having said that I dont see that anyone else could have it, so i'd go Mcgugan or still tempted by Hill!!!!!
