Roman issued several statements recently.
Most Chelsea fans see his actions as sincere and even altruistic in relationship to the future of the club he loved so much and was loved in return as #nr1 fan.
Its typical for particular rival fans to impute some nefarious motivations . That's ok and their right, even so they should stick to their own boards to offer their opinions.
Coming to the Chelsea board to relate these opinions shows up their motivations to troll us.
We ( in the main) do not close the comments of rival fans as is seen on other boards.
The important sentiments are from our own Chelsea faithful, what we think and how we choose to defend the best owner any sporting club could ever have and most likely will in the future. The almost unanimous reaction of love for RA does not surprise me in the least.
The end game of RA's stewardship of Chelsea is a momentous and sad time for us. Should the likes of some of the above posters, also from previous threads choose to relish in our unhappiness at this time, so be it..... water off a duck's back as they say.
You all should be gasping in admiration that a club owner like Roman Abramovich should receive so much , even unanimous appreciation, from the Chelsea fans... and is for a genuine reason. He is , and is seen by the fans as the best of us.
I believe I am among the majority of Chelsea fans who would like to see , at the appropriate time, a proper statue of Roman at Stamford Bridge for all to witness the benchmark set for what a true and passionate club owner should be.

The world is turning it's back on all things Russian, and you want a statue put up. Jeez, the blindness related to supporting a football team. Blimey, why don't you go all in and have the statue of him with his arm around Putin.
Or maybe, just watch the news for 5 minutes and have a think about how long it will be before such a statue will be there before someone tears it down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All thigs Russian? Putin maybe Russia right now but he is far from all things Russian. I've been to Moscow a couple of times and I've been to Kiev once. Both interesting places with a varied population and it sickening to see what is happening right now out there. Make all the ridiculous claims you like, they are insignificant.
Vav, nice post mate but it will fall on deaf ears but we know.

Get rid of City’s owners and Newcastles new owners and we could have a decent league again where trophies are won on hard work and merit rather than the whim of one man/fund.
If Spurs could get rid of Lewis and Levy in the bargain then I would be delighted, as I am sure a large amount of United and Gooners would be to get rid of the Glazers and Kroenke.
Only problem, West Ham might not go the full 50 years without a trophy.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
decent league, we would walk it every year.
No fun in that

Nope, not just Putin. All things Russian. That is for the greater good as ultimately it will hit Putin.
People acting like Roman is some poor innocent Russian caught up in stuff. It doesn't take much digging to see his previous ties with Putin. It's really weird that just because he's been a "good" owner of a football club people think he should be untouchable.

Think it will always feel a bit like Romans clubs to me, after all he has done for Chelsea. Although who knows if he will be able to sell.
A consortium led by Wyss and Boehly seems the most concrete interest. Chelsea are self sufficient but these two are worth about 4b each, so could bankroll the club if they wanted.
Apparently Boehly bid for Chelsea before, but was also interested in Tottenham. We will see what unfolds.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mate, in my opinion that one was dead before it hit the news.

At one time Ukraine and Ukrainians were infamous for their love of N@zi ideology and received high praise for their particular cruelty and effectiveness as concentration camp guards, receiving praise from Himmler himself.
Today Ukraine has a Jewish leader and are rightly praised for for their courageous resistance against an all powerful invading enemy.
Cromwell who was the parliamentarian hero who defeated an oppressive monarchy and dissolute king, became a national disgrace . Mussolini, Napoleon, Anwar Sadat, .....should i go on?
My point is in current times , particularly in the present day, times, it depends which media you subscribe to. Heroes become villains and vice versa in a short space of time. Let's not start on Donald Trump... ?!
I am in no way defending Putin.... Yes we in The West hate his actions towards Ukraine. Some Russians naturally oppose him, but the majority of Russians believe he is acting in the interests of Russia. Yes... protecting the motherland from the incursions of Nato and EU who have broken treaty agreements not to involve Ukraine in military projects like the proposed EU army. ( admit to being out of depth but do read the narratives)
So Kennedy was a saint and Khruschev was the Devil right ? How dare he point those missiles at The USA? Hypocrisy appears to rule the planet nowadays.
I understand that RA had to make deals with Putin in the past. But how does that make him a pal. Putin has no pals.
Putin is not Roman Abramovich. RA has won every libel case he took to court where the offender was proved wrong, or lacked evidence.
No smoke without fire?... yes there may well be shady dealings....which remain in the shade precisely because no one has provided the evidence to show otherwise.
As for tearing down statues ...well that seems to be a very modern trend.... I don't care what it means to you but it offends me... principles. I don't like your view on a particular topic so I'll make sure my cronies don't do business with you...
My point...once more... is the fickleness of things and the fast changing perceptions in the modern world.
Another thing ....I did not advocate for an immediate statue for RA.... I said "at the appropriate time"
bah....i honesty don't know why I even bother. ......

I have the perfect solution for Chelsea and Spurs. Think about it…
One has a sht stadium, one has the best.
One has a sht team, one has a decent team.
One has a sht recent history, the other very good.
One has a sht past history, the other decent.
One has a sht football dept, the other very decent.
It is ripe for an amalgamation! Take the best bits of both. Play in green.
Of course you’d need to find a new fan base cos they’re both sht.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only thing Spurs and Chelsea have in common is they don't play in a pub league!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only reason you don’t have to survive on £2m tv money is where an arbitrary border is drawn on a map.

Only problem, West Ham might not go the full 50 years without a trophy.

decent league, we would walk it every year.
No fun in that

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The world is turning it's back on all things Russian, and you want a statue put up.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope, not just Putin.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone who is is little better tha Putin himself. You cannot judge a nation by its leaders. I have many relatives in the US, I don't judge Americans by Trump ot Biden because having visited countless times I know there is more to the country than that. Yours is a small minded bigoted attitude.
