Think they caught Southampton at a bad time. Saints had a cup game midweek whereas Villa didn't, still, 4 nil isn't something that we could manage so fair play to them. Think we need 4 points minimum from the next 2.

4pts minimum but not getting 6 would be disappointing
We've averaged 0.85 points per game all season, to expect that to rise to 2 points per game suddenly is based on nothing more than hope.
We currently have the worst form in the division, even just 2 points from these 2 matches is overachieving based on our season's form
Statistics can be a bit misleading though - that average includes our pastings against the top teams.
Any idea what our average ppg is against lower-half of the table teams?
I know that we had a very good record against most of the teams that were below us earlier in the season. Fingers crossed that we can hold our own against the teams in and around us still.
Depending on what the final safety point is say between 36 and 38, ( Got the feeling 35 wont do it i.e our GD), we now need to average approximately 1.2 to 1.4 points points per game.
Our performance improved at the weekend but our ability to find the back of the net didnt.
If we draw all our remaining games - 11 , we are very likely relegated on 34 points.
...and no I'm not being pessimistic - Just stating the maths as it stands.

Agreed. Draws alone are now not going to be enough.
Some key dates where it could be won or lost.
2nd Apr
Burnley face Man C and Watford travel to Anfield whist we host already safe Southampton.
9th and 10th Apr; (Relegation playoffs)
Watford v Leeds
Norwich v Burnley
30th Apr
Watford v Burnley
11th May
Last game of the season we travel to Brentford......

A really weird take.
Would make more sense to compare our points total against the specific teams. Which was 4 points so is pretty reasonable to aim to repeat what we have already achieved this season. Especially given that these are both at home and the 2 previous games were away.

Yep, think we’re gonna have to beat the Bees to stay up.
We should be looking at the pastings we've had, some of the teams around us have to play the bigger clubs!..
Nothing saying they won't get similar pastings to what we did!..
And Newcastle, that's not the same Newcastle that spent more than anyone around them could afford to do in January is it?..
Btw if we do get relegated, are we calling for the return of Marcelo? Sorry, it's just a wild fantasy I have (the Bielsa bit, not the relegation...)
Burnley are most likely our biggest worry, they have 11 points from their last 12 games…if they can replicate that form they’ll end with 32 points.
Can we get 10+ points from 11 games? We only have City, Arsenal and Chelsea left, games that we might not expect anything.
Splitting hairs here, but, I think(?) Everton are the worst team currently based on form table. Could be wrong.

Precisely. The most logical way.
Just try to win the game. Worry about the next game
after.
It's easy to get caught up in the mathematics of our relegation battle. The picture changes week by week, teams drop into the mire, teams lift themselves out. All we can affect is the results in our games, starting with Villa, so we can't let ourselves get distracted by Fat Fwankie's hilarious Spursy at the home of all Spursies.
One thing for sure, though, we can beat this Villa team. We put three past them at their place and dominated the game, apart from 15 minutes in the first half. Mings is an accident waiting to happen and I think our compact style will stifle their creativity.
Can you believe it was only three weeks ago we played like this?

No but if you look at Everton’s April games they have a damn tough run:
West Ham A
Man U H
Liverpool A
Chelsea H
Next two are vital for them. Wolves and Newcastle at home.
Then they gave their last three;
Leicester A
Brentford H
Arsenal A
I can see Frankie taking them down.
