Roman finally on the sanctions list

Wonder if Chelsea players will be permitted to cancel their contracts??

If I was a player and working for someone who has direct links with Putin, I would seriously have to consider my future. I hope Agents and the PFA are working on this as we speak

Will Chelsea fans be shouting his name now??? Bunch of caaaaants.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Despite your obvious delight in this. Roman knew this already and is one step ahead
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you are half right

He must have known what sanctions were coming so knew it was imperative that the club was sold before this happened

However his greed in asking for too much looks like put everyone off and they walked away leaving Chelsea now in a very bad way

Definitely not one step ahead as he should have sold straight away

This is massive news and very bad for Chelsea
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There is no way he could have sold the club in two weeks. He even issued a statement saying this.

And he knew sanctions were coming, hence the offer of sale proceeds to charity and write off of loan
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe he thought he had more time before sanctions hit but you won’t convince me or anyone else that this is what Roman wanted and he is a step ahead of the game

Could be some lean times ahead for Chelsea

Feel sorry for the decent fans but some have bought the gloating on from rivals by themselves

Will they be able to sell the 3,000 players they have out on loan?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
City have more players out on loan

Thankfully new rules are coming in to stop loan farms.

If Chelsea went extinct, who would actually have any sympathy? I guess you will have to support Fulham

What happens to season ticket sales for next season?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Assuming they are not allowed to sell any until further notice. Also this will put question marks around any commericial revenue from TV money and Sponsorships. Oops.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You are creaming yourself and getting over excited.

We’ll still play CL next season and you’ll be playing Europa
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not getting excited at all. Just asking questions about our London neighbour's fate, that all. Are you not worried?

I guess when you dance with the devil this is what happens.

It was obvious this was coming.

Club in limbo until Putin goes at least. Should still have a couple of seasons in the tank before the rot sets in.

Cheslea are guilty of war crimes, by association. Some of their fans hard earned has probably paid for the shells Russia dropped on a kids hospital.

The whole world knew sanctions were coming. The only surprise was that it took the government so long.

Of course Roman did not want sanctions but Boris kindly gave him some breathing space

Not really. If you saw the scenes of Putin bombing a hospital and the owner of your football club was his best mate would you not be worried at all? Where is your moral compass at?

There is no point in worrying yet as there is so much that can happen. So many imponderables.

All we definitely know Is that we can still win two more trophies this season

David Attenbrough has been quoted to say that he is delighted the war on plastics has taken this necessary next step.

posted on 10/3/22

I’m sure they will allow the sale of the club but are likely to with hold proceeds until the war is over and sanctions lifted.

What if they sanction the 1.5b he has loaned Chelsea and demand it is paid back?

I wouldn't count on that.

These sanctions may leave a bad taste in UEFA's mouth and they may want to distance themselves from Chelsea to avoid any more bad publicity.

They COULD exclude Chelsea from their competitions on the premise that they are bringing the competition into disrepute.

The government should seize Chelsea and asset strip it and whatever is left give to the fans to start again. AFC Chelsea

Exactly ‘could’.

Chelsea half frozen as expected and probably agreed behind closed doors last week.

Our government too weak to go whole hog, we all know that

Bit of a tough one this, how can Chelsea operate under these level of restrictions?

It's nothing to do with weak Government. The statement explains that CFC is seen as a cultural asset. Full on sanctions would destroy the club, see them unable to fulfil fixtures, removed from the PL etc.

At least this approach allows the club to continue for now, hardly weakness from the Government, more like compassion. You should be grateful
