Did anyone back Coole Cody at Cheltenham
Won at 22/1
I'm not a betting man but I cheered him all the way to the line.
I suspect with the players available we’ll see Dendoncker as the third man in midfield with Raul and Podence up front. If we did play three up front I’d like to see Chiquinho get a chance. Think he’s done well in his sub appearances.
I do think Trincao will likely become a good player but like Fabio last season he doesn’t look ready for this level at the moment. Was interested to read an interview with him this week where he said he’d been doing really well so far and is surprised he hasn’t had more starts. Nice to be confident but do think the lad is kidding himself really
Bruno confirmed in his press conference that Neto will miss the Leeds game but should be fit for the Villa game after the international break. Hwang has recovered from the injury he picked up last week and is available for selection against Leeds
Leeds meanwhile hope to have a few players back from injury. Bamford is fit and Kelvin Philips could be available after a long lay off, plus captain Liam Cooper

If Trincao said that he's feckin deluded. For all the minutes he's had he hasn't got one league goal or assist to show. Chiquinho has only made a couple of appearances but already has a cool assist for Neves's goal against Watford.
The two players are almost exactly the same age but in my opinion Chiquinho looks a far better prospect than Trincao.
When you think that Barcelona want more for Trincao than we paid for Neves, I'm sorry but no, just no.
Agree with that Gem, wouldn't be sorry to see Trincao go. He might come good but probably not with us. Let's see how Chiquinho performs next season.
West Ham beating Sevilla right now and proving an equal match for them. Still feckin pees me off that we were so pathetic when we played Sevilla. Literally rolled over and let them tiggle our bellies all night. What a waste of a great opportunity.
One of 2 big games we bottled the other being the FA Cup semi
Yeah, I would add the Burnley and Sheff Utd games to that as well, defending deeper and deeper and making negative substitutions.
So now that West Ham have put the favourites, Sevilla, out of the Europa League, someone remind me what this means for Wolves chances of getting into Europe.

Leicester through in the conference as well. Our chances are slimmer but not by much as yet.
If West Ham win the Europa League, they qualify for a 2022-23 Champions League spot. That will give us 5 in that comp.
If the winner of the FA Cup is a team that is not in the CL they qualify for the Europa League together with the 5th placed side in the Premier League.
We would then have to finish 6th to qualify for the Conference League.
I believe I have that right!!!
West Ham tonight against the side sitting second in La liga.
20 shots to 14, 9 on target to 2....and 48% poss.
Wolves a couple of years back against the side sitting 4th in La Liga
6 shots to 17, 2 on target to 5.......and 27% poss.
I hope that going forward we become a far braver side, fortune favours the brave so they say.

But with Liverpool as EFL cup winners, who wont drop out of the CL places now, if a top 5 team wins the FA cup then that EFL cup Conference league place will go to 7th place. I think that's our only realistic hope to be honest.
From the PL website:
a) If the FA Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League, their UEL group stage place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League.
b) If the EFL Cup winners finish in the top five of the Premier League (or top six if (a) happens), their UECL playoff place will go to the next-highest ranked team not qualified for UEFA competitions in the Premier League.
So if I read that right, if a top 5 team that is not West Ham win the FA cup and WHU win the Europa, then the conference league place could go to 8th place:
If the season ended now with say Man City as cup winners & WH as EL winners:
1. Man City - CL (EL place goes to 6th)
2. Liverpool - CL (ConL place goes to 8th)
3. Chelsea - CL
4. Arsenal - CL
5. Man U - EL
6. WHU - CL (EL place from Man City goes to 7th) *
7. Spurs - EL
8. Wolves - Conf League
* Not sure if this actually is the rule, PL site doesnt describe what happens in this scenario.

Any road up, first things first. Nine games and 27 points still to play for. Not sure what to make of Leeds under this new manager but I hope we got positive and batter them like we did Watford not start passive like at Everton.
Spurs have a game in hand still over us so I think they're gone..... 2 pts to west ham and 4pts to united... not sure we'll catch Man U, but we have to target to WHU... thankfully we've a bit of a cushion to the villa, but with them up very soon and them having a game in hand we can't take them not catching us for granted
Was talking to a guy last night who's just moved in two doors down from Semedo in Tettenhall, asked him for an injury update, said he'd not spoken to him yet. Useless.
has he not got a kid who can spanner a football over 2 fences

You really can't claim Mystic Meg bonus points for that we've been waiting for 5 years for Neves to leave already

Anyway, if we have any realistic hopes of catching West Ham then tonight absolutely has to be 3 pts with this game probably among our three 'easiest' fixtures left.
