I am sure the 500 employees can quite easily find work elsewhere, as we are continually told there are thousands of job vacancies. They won't be the first people to lose their jobs, so they cannot be made a special case.

They need tougher sanctions and to be stripped of their tainted silverware. I imagine a lot of the Chelsea employees who may lose their jobs were probably looking to move on anyway. Who wants to work for a war funder?

Abramovich has ties with him, sure, but I doubt a man of his considerable wealth would actually want what is happening right now. Make no mistake, the oligarchs will be privately furious about all this. They won't have wanted war. It doesn't help them. If influential figures like themselves come out and publicly condemn Putin then they'll likely expect a couple of drops of Novichok in their atomisers. It's nuanced. Not every influential Russian is guilty. The PL and government had to make a stand against his ownership but to expect Chelsea fans to follow suit after all he's given them is just frankly absurd. He's done a lot for the club and he's not the one directly orchestrating this war. He just doesn't publicly condemn it largely to save his own life. Allow them the right to say thank you. It's possible to be grateful to Abramovich and still hate the war Putin is raging. They're two separate things.

I can only assume this is just cheap baiting from one rival club to another.

Pretty much this. Chelsea have broken no rules. The Prem knew who RA was when they let him buy the club and whilst it is right he is under sanctions, talk of taking trophies off them is laughable.

it is ridiculous to demand any trophies should be declared null & void.
The competitions Chelsea have won so far have been won fairly and everyone needs to accept this and focus on the present.
Fans might now demand if certain players currently awaiting court appearances for alleged offences, then any games they played in and won or drawn, any points won should be retrospectively taken away and given to their opponents. Absolutely ludicrous to even suggest Chelsea should have any trophies taken away.

At times I questioned whether I was right to stand up for Chelsea fans.

Then I saw sandy and culer agreeing about stripping titles and realised how right I was.

Sorry Fridgeboy but Abramovich is right up to his neck in this war. He was, is still a mate of Putin's. He knew full well what sort of a person Putin was years back, andcyrt he backed him to the hilt to become President of Russia. Abramovich is as complicit as anyone in this.
