It was actually a pretty close game, we had more possession they had better chances. The result was awful but we're not anywhere near as far from the top four quality wise as the press would have you believe.

Positives?

Coquelin enhanced his reputation.
Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't harm his.

It's still only October rather than late April so we have, at the least, another 3 months of seeing RVP in an Arsenal shirt and, at best, 7. Never have I been more ecstatic.

Positives? There is no positive aspect when you lose a game. And surely no "2 steps forwards, one step backwards" as our manager thinks. It was a reality check that we are no better than a bottom half table team.

I think yesterday's defensive performance was better, and Coquelin was superb, doing everything that Song used to do when he stuck to his defensive midfield duties. If we ever have two centrebacks fit, it would be nice to see the two of them (Song and Coquelin) play together behind Arteta/Ramsey/Wilshere and let us control the middle of the park, where we have been sadly lacking of late.

The performance was generally good, but we are still lethargic in the final third, and we need our players to react when they concede possession and work their socks off to put opposition defences under pressure. Spur's chances came from them capitalising on our mistakes, they didn't really prise us apart when we got men behind the ball.

We should be doing the same to our opponents.

A negative times a negative is a positive.

Using that rule, we're playing sheite now X we're going to play shiete until the end of the season = CHAMPIONS!!

Could we do a Liverpool?

It might happen.

(I'm talking about the CL win, not spending millions on English mediocrity)

I see Wenger has officially written our chances of winning the Premier League off for this season.

At least we got to October....just.

He won't be pushed out by the board but I reckon he will jump if we have a few more embarrasing defensive displays like yesterday.

I'd like to see him stay on and help develop the youngsters, which is his unrivalled strength, but he won't. He'll head back to France - perhaps PSG.
