I wouldn’t be surprised if Saudis took over. The whole league seems to be controlled by dirty money now, why not let more in?

Joke if Abramovic is chased out yet Saudi’s are allowed to then buy Chelsea.

A complete nonsense.

Be a shame if more dirty money enters the league.

Roman should do the right thing and give the club away to the fans/supporters club.

The Prem is now full of corruption and/or greed and drifting further and further from the people who should have the biggest say in it.

Real tainted feeling about the whole league now. Dirty money in Newcastle, City and Chelsea. The EPL trophy may as well be covered in STIs it’s so filthy.

The league was tainted by money in general some time ago, but also obviously the reason why it’s been so successful.

Tainted since Louis Edwards used the profits from selling tainted meat to Manchester schools to buy United.

United fans talking about unfairness and tainted leagues doesn’t sit well with me

Yes you may generated huge sums from being a huge club but there was no moaning when you blowing everyone else out the water with massive transfer fees and wages no one else could compete with

Don’t care how the money was made ! So don’t chime back with that

The point is you blew every club out of the competition but that was okay was it ?

As nice as that may be (could also be a complete disaster) I doubt it's even legally possible right now

IMO it wasn't OK back then and its not OK now, but still, the source of the money matters in the court of public opinion. Revenue generated by the club itself is seen as more honourable whereas doping is seen as dishonourable.

It takes away from sporting integrity but so do the massive economic advantages like United used to have. Sport is all about certain factors being equal among competitors.

Pretty much all the top clubs right now have some strand of contribution, or blame depending on your prospective, for opening the doors to creating the league as it is today. It could be argued Spurs struck the first blow in this regard when they became a PLC, that was the first hint that football was straying away from it's roots and that was the early 80's.

Just gotta take it for what it is. Tbf England's top tier division as a product & brand has never been stronger so it's not like there's been no upside.

United have had both Rupert Murdoch and Robert Maxwell as major shareholders in the past.

No dirty money there eh?

The money with us has always been clean. It’s the likes of City and Chelsea that have tainted the league forever. Would rather we had nothing to do with winning it now. The integrity and fairness is gone.

There was integrity when we did and that’s lost forever now. Can’t believe Saudis are buying Chelsea… it’s just corrupt. If we were to win it again in these times I would be embarrassed.

They only operated in non-executive capacity so had nothing to do with the day to day running of the club.

Saudis won't buy Chelsea. The boss of Saudi MBS wouldn't tolerate another Saudi competing with his Newcastle. The Premier League won't authorise another Saudi takeover. You will be taken over by the yanks who are more accepted by the British cousins.
