I think its fairer to say that on his day Bale was better than Salah or Suarez. Both those two proved they can maintain their performances over a longer period.
There was a point (last season at Spurs especially) where he was as unplayable as any player on the planet IMO. His attitude and mentality stopped him from either reaching higher heights or maintaining the form his peers have hit.
Even in his earlier Spurs days his attitude wasnt the best.

His free kick was top bin. Can't get better than that.
Not sure how good he is or was but he up there with the most exciting players to watch. that goal against (I think) Barcelona when he ran off the pitch and still beat the full back was mental. Not forgetting the season with Spurs when worldy's were a weekly occurrence,and of course the overhead kick against Liverpool.
Great player who, in terms of trophies has had an incredible career. Even more so when you think about the part he had to play in this wins and some of the big moments he produced.
That being said, and it sounds strange when you consider what he's won, but you do look at him and think he could of been so much more. Injuries certainly didn't help but his attitude has to come in to question too.

Yeah he had great physical qualities as well. People forget just how nippy he was.
He’ll be one of those players who consistently gets better the longer he is away from retirement.

Bale at his peak was unbelievable to watch but that was under 2 seasons in the Premier League. He made huge contributions at Real Madrid and won 3 CL's but he's rested on his laurels for years now.
I really wish he kept the hunger full time and returned permanently to the PL after that 3rd CL. I do feel the lack of respect he showed Madrid worked both ways and it's seen his career taper off.
He will retire this summer if Wales don't get to the World Cup imo.
But one of my favourite players to watch especially before the Madrid move.
