Great thread, thanks
Is 6 wins from the last 10 too much to hope for?
Blackpool are tough, but fingers crossed we can get a 2-1
Laryea played LB as Canada lost 1-0 to Costa Rica after having a man sent off. They are still top of qualifying with Jamaica (H) and Panama (A) to play. It looks like we’ll have at least one player at this years WC.
From what I saw on Social media he was very impressive! Spence esc performance! Do wonder why Cooper hasn’t given him a go

MotM apparently...and at LB. Definitely need to get him playing if we meet Boro in the play-offs.

With plenty of games featuring two play off contenders to come I think five wins from ten games will just about do it.
Wins against Blackpool, Brum, Posh, Jacks, and Hull.
Draws against Cov and WBA
Defeats by Luton, Fulham, Bournemouth
Is how I conservatively see it panning out. Being the Championship we will probably lose one of my predicted wins, but hopefully one of my predicted deafeats will be won to balance it out.
As amatter of interest I think top six will be
Fulham
Bournemouth
Middlesbro
Luton
Forest
Sheff U
Relegated
Reading
Posh
Sheep (with -15pts, and £5 in the bank)
Great post 'chile.
You're getting pretty good at this Match Thread lark.. Even when you've had a drink.
We’ve lost 4 games League games under Cooper’s reign so far
I cannot see us lose 3 out of our next 10
I also think we’ll win comfortable against Blackpool 2 or 3 nil

I did say I was being conservative.
On the other hand I could say that as we are full of confidence at the moment, and squad players are coming in and doing a terrific job, we have Lowe, Cook, McK, and Grabban back for the play offs; promotion via the play offs is nailed on.
But I’ll stick with my original prediction for now.
Cheers everyone. Keeps me out of mischief for half an hour a week!
Laryea is going to the WC!!!
He played 63 minutes at RB in a 4-0 win vs Jamaica!

I’ll also chip in by saying that I think promotion by the playoffs is far from nailed on
Let’s be honest, our record in them doesn’t fill me with confidence - I worry about facing both Sheff Utd or Middlesborough in them
Whilst I totally trust Steve Cooper, it’s a total lottery and all depends how the teams perform of the day
Whilst we have a great squad, full of confidence - I hate the playoffs

Our record in the playoffs isn't great but its not a lottery. Against Swansea we were too negative after they went down to ten men at home and Davies picked the wrong team for the second leg (Earnie)
Against Sheff U.losing Daws for the second leg at Bramhall Lane was costly.
Shocking second leg perfornances against Yeovil, and Blackpool got us what we deserved - nothing.
Sorry for reminding everyone of these traumas. but none of them are as bad as setting up Zamora for the winner in the final.
It's all down to Cooper, all the players are full of confidence and Cooper has always got the tactics right so far.
So our best chance since Billy blew it against Blackpool!
Definitely agree with you last statement Bear
I actually think we have a better chance as this is a better team, particularly Spence, Johnson and Garner! But the jeopardy is higher because if we fail there’s no chance keeping the group together.
Bunk, that is the ‘all in’ gamble
Whilst at this moment in time, the vast majority are overwhelmed and amazed at how we’ve progressed and the vibe around the place
It could all be such a different story if we fail in the playoff quest
The fallout will be massive and the change in fortune will be huge
How we even begin to rebuild a squad that will be totally decimated is beyond me
Even with promotion keeping Johnson and getting Spence back is a tough ask, cup run has put them on another level.
Man U may feel Garner is up for a PL loan so IF we make it I can see a possible return for him. Also Worrall he almost went last summer and clubs already queueing up again, failure and he is gone for sure!
Lowe and Davis have been on record as saying they are loving it at WFCG so hopeful we can keep them regardless.
Not sure Zinch is PL and even in Championship we could do better.
If we did manage to go up I’d expect all the players to stay on bar Zinko.
Spence has one good season in the EPL and he’s worth 50 million. Boro could sell him to us with a huge sell-on clause.

Worst case if we miss out is that we lose all loanees and one of our Crown Jewels. But Look what Murphby and Cooper built this season from what they started with. Next season they will still have the basis of a good squad to start with.
Plus I think Laryea, Harbottle, Richardson, Fornah, and Konate could all graduate to the match day squad.
The recruitment team will have two shopping lists. One for the Prem, and one for the EFL. And they will have made enquiries.
Good recruitment and good coaching will win us promotion. If not this season then maybe next.
Red, I hope you’re right - you fill me with more confidence mate

He hasn't been that good in two years or more I'd say. If he's back to 18/19 and 19/20 levels that's an awesome boost.
vs. Blackpool
Horvath
Spence Worrall Figs Colback
Garner Yates
Lolley Z.Nagel Johnson
Davis
Subs: Samba, Laryea, Soh, Cafu, Mighten, Surridge and Silva?
Grabban shouldn't be far away now. Probably in place of Silva when he's back.
Add in Cook, Lowe and McKenna!? Wow. That could be some team at season end.
Horvath
Worrall Cook McKenna
Spence Garner Yates Lowe
Lolley Z.Nagel Johnson
Davis
Samba, Colback, a CB, Cafu, Mighten, Grabban and Surridge
We've not even seen what Laryea and Panzo can do yet!
