I’d be amazed if orta finds another player similar, even with £50m to spend. Maybe if Barca give us a good player with some talent in part ex, we could end up with a gem. Who knows
Apparently Leeds want Trincao as part of the deal. He's on loan at Wolves and was the standout player when he came on against us the other night. Unlikely imo but at 22, he'd be a shrewd signing.
He’s been average in general according to wolves fans.
Straight swap for Pedri would do!

I'd bet money Aaronson deal happens. He's a JM guy.
Another American worth looking at is Gio Reyna. This
kid's going to be some player. Big lad too. At Dortmund.
And developing fast. Only 19.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dortmund! They probably value him at €100m π
steross, probably so. I'd say realistically he's in the
30 mill range now. Bellingham has to getting close
to the 40-50 mill region also. That's a very smart
football club. Great at developing players.
It's best all round if he goes
We can't keep a player or that level if he wants to go. It's more important to keep Phillips and get him and Bamford fit.
Let him go. Hopefully we get 45m plus and it's a good amount and deal all round
Bellingham was unreal last night. I got it wrong. He's not a 40-50 mill player...he's clearly a once in a generation talent that will cost someone 100 mill this summer. Brilliant player. England must start him in the world cup.
I hear some of our fans talk about raph as a 100m player and cite examples of other players of similar ability who have gone for that.
They tend not to point out similar talents who have gone for less.
It’s supply and demand… top clubs pay over the odds when they have a positional weakness they have to fill.. and when they feel a particular player is the standout option and worth it ‘to them’ not necessarily to anyone else.
I also think there are 3 must haves in top players - work effort, understanding of team responsibility/positioning and consistency.
I think Raph has work effort, but I don’t think he demonstrates the other two. He was inconsistent last year as well as this… and he’s a work in progress on when to play the killer ball and when to retain possession.
Could be that with better players around him, rather than being the focal point, that he would flourish but I imagine that’s what the top clubs would be asking themselves.
He’s an amazing talent, but to me £50m is par… anything higher is upside.

on the 3 must haves, these are the 10 things we consider when looking at team players (based on Allistair Mccaw):
1) They put the team first.
2) They bring a great energy and they inspire others
3) They turn up for practice BEFORE time
4) They always give their best
5) They are coachable
6) They are grateful for every opportunity
7) They protect their culture ie the club culture
8) They present themselves as champions
9) They're accountable
10) They aim to leave a legacy

Some are more important than others, but these are the things many coaches look for in players.
Geno Auriemma, one of my favourite coaches, also feels really strongly about attitude/body language and some football players could learn a lot from this:

It’s a good list, they’re largely all subsets of work ethic/attitude.
player I know who has played in the all 4 leagues in this country, told me that in his opinion, with some exceptions, the difference in standard was pretty much down to attitude, commitment and professionalism rather than ability. He wasn’t saying that lower league players were lazy wasters by any means - just often less obsessed! Clearly it’s a generalisation, but still…

Great saying I use a lot "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard"
I had 2 Romanian girls getting 1:1s, one 9-10, one 10-11
The mum of 10-11 girl complained her daughter not doing as well as 9-10 girl.
I explained that 9-10 girl turned up every week at 08:50 to warm up so lesson was all lesson no warm up needed, and that she got to stay an extra 10 minutes because her daughter turned up at 10:10.

Kane had three shots against the Swiss including the penalty and did very little else, didn't touch the ball once last night. He was being touted as £100m pound player last year. It appears £100m gets you very little nowadays.
Raphinha is player who has looked very comfortable in a Brazil side that is romping away with World Cup - South America qualification.
This standard of player is invariably coveted by the European elite of which sadly we are not one yet.
Best of luck to him if he gets a top move as he at times has been a complete joy to watch.
Could be a stand out in Qatar?
Things can change just like that.
Raphinha breaks and ankle, no one wants him.
Obviously hope this doesn't happen, but cant take anything for granted in sport.
