Just shows how the other 2 have dropped off slightly, but Ronnie remains consistent
. 2 of his last 3 ranking titles have been world titles! I'll take that 😂😂👏

I think Arsenal should do a comparison between Judd and Ding...
I think we know which way that way goes....
No one would be interested though if I did a comparison between Judd and Ding.

I meant no one on here. They only care about the class of 92.
I know mate, im sorry my sarcasm doesn't suit the written word
Yeah your sarcasm was very poor.
To be fair, there's hardly anyone on this board, especially off season.
Shaun Murphy also mentioned there was a class of 98, that obviously wasn't as successful as the class of 92, but still a good batch.
I'm assuming he means himself, Maguire? Robertson? Selby?
He could be refering to them all apart from Selby who turned pro a year later in 1999.
It's usually just me & Arsenal who add a few comments out of season..
I'm not interested really in the class of 92, just Ronnie, but I talk about anyone.. Not just Ronnie

Does anyone know why Ding fell off so badly?
I remember him winning the UK at age 17 and thought he’d win 4-5 World titles in his career. Instead it was Selby who really came through big.
Ronnie broke him in that one final

That was the Masters final in 2007 when Ding was just 19 and it's not actually true at all! Ding achieved plenty of good stuff after that. Winning the UK championship in 2009, Masters in 2011, 5 ranking titles in 2013/2014. He was briefly world number one that season. World finalist as a qualifier in 2016. Won a 3rd UK championship in 2019 beating Ronnie along the way.
The last few years for some reason Ding hasn't been the same player and it's difficult to know why. Hopefully he can get back to the level we know he's capable of.
It really annoyed me when he lost the final to Selby one year and then the SF the next.
Whilst the Masters Final in 2007 didn't fully destroy him, I think he ended up having a pretty poor 2007 and 2008 before winning the UK Title in 2009.
He also had a weird problem at the Crucible, he actually played the Masters in 2004, won the UK in 2005, won ranking events in 2005 and 2006, but his 1st appearance in the Worlds was 2007 (a 10-2 thrashing by Ronnie), then he lost the next 2 years to Hendry who was well past his best.
Had a good season in 2011-12 and then lost the 1st round of the Worlds.
Had his best season in 2013-14 and then lost in the 1st round of the Worlds.
I think once he got to World Number 1 in around 2014/15, he had already won the Masters, UK, many ranking events, 147s, World Number 1. He seemed to play a lot less and only focus on the Worlds and his ranking has suffered and he's had some terrible draws as a result often playing Judd in the 2nd Round, once he played Ronnie in the 2nd Round and had 2 good chances (in 2016/17) but lost both final and semi final to Selby.
If he can get that consistency back, win some tournaments and get back into the top 4 or 5 in terms of ranking, I think he will give himself another chance at the Worlds, but this current form he is showing is not looking good.
Wasn't Ding stuck in China during COVID? That time off wouldn't have helped his game, or his ranking. Will be getting a lot of good opponents in early rounds of tournaments at the moment.
Yeah I think Ding was in China during some periods during covid.
Ding is a superb cueman, but when the pressure is truly on, against the really top boys ( particular Ronnie) he rarely cuts the mustard... I'd like to see him be WC, but I doubt he will now, too many scars... Scars from Selby, & Judd, not just Ronnie...
Only 5 weeks till the new Snooker season starts but the first tournament of the season is the crappy Championship league and that will be going on for a month
Big football weekend first, & we have test cricket next week too... 🏏⚽😂, but I'm missing my snooker
Champions league final and championship playoff final
It feels like it's been ages since I last watched Cricket, it must have been 2 or 3 months. Then again I don't think there's been any decent series going on. I never watch the IPL!
