Forest v Coventry - Match Thread

The problem for us fans is that we're getting used to winning every week!
They made it look easy [ well on the highlights, I realise the game may differ] that we will soon start to expect to score four every game.

The great thing about Coopers squad is the strength in depth, that has materialised out of nowhere?

I think this’ll be a lot closer that Saturday

Coventry are no mugs, but I hope that our strength in depth and quality will prove too much in the end

Focus and discipline are crucial

Looked in control first half but Chelsea got on top after the break.

Osong hit the bar but then we went behind from a corner and looked out of it with 5 minutes to go. But like the first team, they never gave up and scored three to blow Chelsea away. Brilliant!

Osong and Taylor are definitely big enough to step up!

Likely both need a loan next season depending on where we are.

Great result!

Watched the U18s last night and U23s last week. Both played exactly same as the first team which helps when these lads move through the levels.

Not sure about Taylor and Etapa Osong being ready, but I think they should maybe be going on loan to a league 1 team next season. Not sure what the rules are governing loans to National League teams but could one or both of them go to the Meadow Lane after their final and play a few games there. (Not sure on the dates).

From the U23s Panzo could definitely step up when needed, and possibly Harbottle. Laryea didn't play last week for U23s. But at some point he should come in at LWB for some game time. He may be the answer to Djed's absence should we play 'boro in the play offs.

Luton and QPR dropping points tonight. When other playoff hopefuls drop points it will put doubts in their minds.

If we beat Coventry and 'boro dont win (they play Fulham) we will be fifth still with games in hand.

Our destiny is in our hands. Win these next two we will have one foot in the play offs. If we make it nobody will want to play us..

There’s a circus in the town, in the town
Owd Spudhead is a clown, is a clown
And Mel Morris, has took the puckin fiss
Cos Derby County’s going down, going down

Derby have spent half the season complaining about the EFL, but are now hoping the EFL give them a 15 point deduction this season (instead of next).

I suppose once you cheat the law on a regular basis, it just seems natural to keep on doing it.

You'd think if their fans had any morals at all, that they'd look to do something else instead of support this charade.

How embarrassing.

Yet another ‘cup final’ tonight against Coventry, at another sold out City Ground. After an impressive display at Blackpool we need to keep the momentum going with another solid performance. Coventry are certainly no mugs, and have scored even more late goals than us, which in itself speaks volumes, they don’t know when they’re beaten. We thought we had three points on the opening day but came away empty handed, but fortunately the current team has far more about it than that one. They’ve had some good wins, 5-1 v Fulham but heavy defeats 5-0 v Luton, so are a bit of a mixed bag. It’s all important to start well but maybe more important to finish strongly, between us we have scored something in the region of 19 goals after the 85th minute, so certainly won’t be leaving early. Again I don’t see many changes, Steve’s biggest dilemma is between the sticks, but i’m comfortable with either. He has good potential for rotation up front, but Colback may have to slot in at LB again, still no problem. I expect a good entertaining game of football tonight with Forest to win by 2. Johnson’s in good form so fancy him to get one and maybe Grabs off the bench for the other. A draw wouldn’t be a disaster, but like all the teams around us, there is very little room for slip ups. Should we win our games in hand we’d be in a very strong position, but obviously with tough away games at Fulham and Bournemouth, plus Luton it’s going to be very tough, just how Cooper seems to relish it.
COYRs.

I think tonight's game is going to be a cracker, with one team winning by the odd goal. Hopefully it will be Forest as we need to maximise home advantage for the home games in the remaining nine fixtures. If we do that and draw our away games, that will be 17 points to make a total of 78 points which should be more than enough for the pray-offs.

That would be amazing as we've only lost four games in the league since Super Cooper took over, having lost six of the first seven games of the season.

Not fun to watch. We look a bit jaded and susceptible to being opened up. But we’re also one pass away from scoring again
