Gabriel had another shocker yesterday.
I think Partey is the one to be sweating about
If he even misses just 3/4 games you are in trouble as he has come into form and you don’t have anyone like him to replace him with
Losing Tierney and Partey for a few games is a disaster
Partey injury looked like a hamstring strain. I doubt its more than 10 days.
Tierney is out for the season.
Lokonga and Xhaka in MF isn't going to work

surely they can just get their next games postponed until they're fit. .....that's how it works, right?

Tavares looked a useful little player when he arrived. To begin with he looked a nice contrasting back up for Tierney. Both can hurt the opposition in their own very different ways. Missed a lot of games this season as sick of the actual way we play. But I'm willing to bet that if Tavares has started to look useless then it's almost certainly because Arteta has killed his game and confidence constantly harping at him to be more defensive.
You could see it beginning halfway through the season. That kid is and attacking WB and if Arteta wanted a more defence minded WB the he should have feckin well bought one. But instead he's decided to try and make Tavares something he's not. Result Tavares game goes to sh!t because he literally aint allowed to be himself on the pitch anymore.
When the manager is this utterly sh!t, you have to cut players (especially younger ones) some slack. Tavares could be lighting it up with his attacking play under a manager who knew what he was doing. Don't blame the players for the sheer incompetence of their manager.
Genuinely worse than Andre Santos.
Apparently he was awful for Benfica as well.
He has some good qualities, but defending isn't one of them
Tavares was obviously a very late replacement and clearly wasn't up to it - let's hope Arteta can sort him out because he does have talent and we need him to perform well during the run-in.
He's definitely got quality going forward and his first few games he seemed adequate (though no Tierney) at defensive duties when actually in his own half executing them. I'm not sure Arteta is the right manager for him since it looked to me as though berating from Arteta for his first couple of mistakes just shattered the kid's confidence. Which inevitably lead to the subsequent performances getting worse. More he gets yelled at, the more mistakes he makes and vice versa.
Not every player responds well to being screamed at by a nutter. Tavares I think may be one of the ones whom doesn't. Because he was actually going great guns until the day he made a couple of mistakes in a game and Arteta started yelling at him like a mad man.

He looked good at the start of the season but doesn't have the temperament to be a defender
He should just play when we play 3 at the back

Tomiyasu has come back at the right time. His ability to tuck into midfield/back 3 can give Nuno license to stay in forward areas
