----------------------------------------------------------------------
Will either likely come? It’s a very challenging situation at Arsenal, but at least now the foundations are better than they were from Wenger days imo.
Conte came to Spurs when they looked in dire straights. Mid-table, an ageing squad with club likely to sell their best player.
Let’s see if the board has balls to get rid of him. Just in a limbo right now
Thats the big question. It takes an awfully big man to admit a mistake and billionaires are loathed to do it.
Villarreal's manager looks top notch.
I think the Sevilla manager would be perfect for Arsenal.
If you had managed to get Vlahovic in Jan you would be nailed on for CL. I don’t think you are missing much, a top striker some cover in the full back positions and cover for Partey
We are getting at best 4 or 5 points from our next 4 games.
Saints game is 50/50. They have just be pumped by Chelsea so expect a reaction and we are the perfect fixture for them with our young squad.
Chelsea - guaranteed loss
United - they are as bad as us but have players like Ronaldo so expect him to score the winner or something.
West hame - draw if we are lucky.
Even if he gets 6th, he has to go
You might get around 70 points and still miss out on top 4. I don't think that would suggest Arteta has done a bad job. That would show progress has been made. Emery got to 70 points and missed out on top 4 too but he has repeatedly shown elsewhere he is a far better manager than missing out on top 4 in one particular season in the PL.

It's highly unlikely Spurs (pre-Conte) or Man Utd will be this bad next season, so this was the best chance we had to get top-4. We will again be trying to reinforce our squad at a disadvantage (Spurs with additional CL income for players, Man Utd always a financial powerhouse etc...).
I predict more of the same for us next season. Don't see anything fundamentally changing.
Yeah he would have to go if we don’t get Europe. Realistic aspirations of decent progress before the season started was to get back into top 6. If we finish top 6 with a much improved points tally, he would have reason to stay strengthen the squad with a target of top 4 next season. It will be a failure if we don’t get 4th considering the position we’ve found ourselves in, but it’s not necessarily end game for Arteta, it would depend on the margin we miss out on. I think most fans would have taken being 3 points off 4th in April, so we’ll have to see how it pans out. If we have a big collapse now he’ll have to go, and big questions will have to be asked of others who decided to gamble on making no signings in January. As the lack of back up does seem to be our undoing, and that was an obvious concern many of us had.
So after spending a quarter of a billion since arriving, not achieving cl football after 3 seasons, some fans want him to be here next season for a 4th season?

The owners aren't going to change him. It doesnt matter what we want
Coming up to 18 years since we won a title then 19 next year
Fall out of top 6??? That bar is too low after the last 2 seasons. Remember he's arguably already thrown away 2 chances to return us to CL last season. First with a pathetic run in throwing away points after the team miraculously had a chance of 4th thanks to dire showings by others. Then again with the most ps poor Arsenal final performance throwing away the EL route.
Now he's spent 150 mil improving that team, had less games to play than all his rivals and a gift of a fixture list that should have seen him well qualified short of miracles by now. The msg from the Arsenal fanbase has to be loud, singular and consitent from now until the end of the season...
CHAMPION'S LEAGUE OR SACKED!
Perfectly fair, though I'd personally sack him season's end no matter what now.

Winning the greatest English football title victory of all time was always going to come at a cost.
And boy did we pay
He's not going anywhere he's singing a new contract so pointless wasting your breath.
Look, top 4 is still on. It's going to be incredibly difficult, but you never know.
We have made progress this season. We completely fooked ourselves not bringing in a striker (which was the bare minimum after we let auba go) and a midfielder.
If we have a complete meltdown, then arteta should go. But he won't.
The team is young and get it right in the summer and go again.
Still loads left in the season.
Considering its his first real management job isn't it at the 3rd biggest club in the country he's done a good job really.
Who realistically to replace him?
I'd probably want Arteta to go packing if we finished 6th or lower.
It would take a catastrophic run of results which would severely damage what progress has been made. They only way you correct that is with a significant dismissal & arrival.
4th would be an exceptional result. 5th would be disappointing but by no means a disaster. 6th should be the door.

‘Sorry, Arsenal. Sorry, Arteta,' he said, via Goal. 'It is not a situation. It didn't come from us. No, there is absolutely nothing.'
‘At a time of so much "fake news", information that is not true makes me sad and I hope that this is corrected.
'My family can rest easy because I have dignity and great respect for the Brazilian team.’
'My feeling is very sad and I get sad because information is passed to the public that is a lie.
'I tell people who feel identified with me to be calm, because Tite has a personal attitude that values his professional activity and knows of the responsibility with the Brazilian team.'
Not only has he denied links to the Arsenal job but he seems extremely upset to have been linked in the first place
Yes I know. We were also linked to Jorge Jesus. But what do you expect Tite to say even if Edu had sounded him out? The world cup is coming up and players don't want to hear that the coach will leave after it. Likewise Arteta is the manager and he was actually doing well at the time so even if alternates had talks it would have sounded absurd.
In my opinion it would be stupid not to do due diligence even if they had intention to extend Arteta.
But if there is no progress even after spending money? How can anyone justify keeping Arteta?
