Its a weird mentality to not get annoyed at the man leads the country terribly and constantly lies, but instead be annoyed at those who condemn him for those actions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not weird.. it's disgustingly complacent and supplicant, The way the man has run the country is no surprise to anyone who has followed his career or has any understanding of Tory neoliberal ultra capitalist ideology.
What is surprising is a PM lieing at the dispatch box to parliament, showing such utter contempt for the public. This as yet another fresh low from this government who gave us the Barnard castle eye test..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
80 majority
Suck it up for at least another 7 years
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What’s so funny about this?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably his belief that the 80 seat majority was because people were on board with his economic plan..
We all know it was farage splitting the vote by standing only in labour seats that caused the majority.. because the FPTP system is awful

He's now a convicted criminal.
Not fit for office.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wrong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Half correct.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't argue with the second bit, you're right.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm correct
Remember OP, this is just the first one. Police still investigating a lot of stuff. Some of the sacked will have squeaked. Left leaning civil servants may have squeaked. CCTV and diary entries may still do more damage.
Particularly all the 'friends round to the flat' stuff. Do you have a tipping point where your 'understanding' is torpedoed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're not correct, a FPN is not a criminal conviction.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes it is.

This isn’t even nearly the first time Boris, his ministers or his govt have acted unlawfully.
Lied to Parliament, repeatedly.
Lied to the public, repeatedly.
Lied to the Queen.
Illegally prorogued Parliament.
Threatened one of the most fiercely independent and respected judiciaries in the world, repeatedly.
Made the UK the first country in the democratic world to introduce a law allowing for people even attempting to organise peaceful protests to be jailed.
Actively working to dismantle media organisations that question the government’s actions.
Unlawfully refuses to respond to FoI requests.
Terrible Brexit deal which is destroying British exporters. Puts a border in the Irish Sea, stabbing political partners in the back.
“Let the bodies pile high” and lockdown parties.
Disastrous response to first wave of COVID-19.
Foreign Secretary who has acted unlawfully in office and broken ministerial code *twice* - refuses to sack her.
Worst Culture Secretary quite possibly in history.
PPE disaster. Contracts for cronies unlawfully awarded without going to tender.
Lies about donors.
Refusal to investigate COVID-19 support fund fraud.
Chancellor who held a US Green Card whilst in public office, and whose wife is a tax-avoiding non-dom.
The list just goes on and on forever. That’s in just two facking years, as well.
Least competent and most corrupt govt in my lifetime, by a comfortable margin.

Good explainer here from Newsnight referencing CPS coronavirus regulations.

More importantly the PM has broken his own ministerial code, and parliamentary ministerial code, which should be grounds for resignation. And also worth noting he could face more FPNs as the MET are still investigating multiple other parties (six) he attended.
Fundamentally the issue is not about criminal law but public trust and integrity of the office of PM.
Anyone with a passing interest in Johnson knew he was/is a compulsive liar and unfit for any office of responsibility. Nevermind PM. Yet millions still voted for him, and continue to support/comply with his dishonesty. Who are just as culpable imo.

HE LIED IN PARLIAMENT... AGAIN!!!!
this is facking massive, it's not just "a drink with friends" if he had been honest up front, it would have just been "w drink with friends" but he's facking lied through his teeth and taken us all for fools.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
if shouting is necessary...
EVERY SINGLE POLITICIAN LIES.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A politician going on TV or some form of media and lying is completely different to a politician deliberately lying in parliament which is a breach of the ministerial code, and is almost always expected to resign or be sacked.
Trying to equate the two is simply wrong.
Some politicians, like Boris, lie like it’s second nature to them; they’ll lie frequently, brazenly, without making a value judgment, about anything and everything.
Other politicians will infrequently tell a lie, or obfuscate or bend the truth, having considered the ramifications and when they believe there’s a good reason for doing so.
“All politicians lie” is about as useful a statement as “all politicians believe in public spending,” or “all politicians think individual rights should be limited.”
It’s also worth adding that as a general rule, and for multiple reasons, you don’t really want a casual, habitual liar (and one who really isn’t any good at it) leading the country.
He’s disgraced the office, he’s insulted the intelligence of both his colleagues and the public, and he’s reduced the country’s standing and influence on the international stage.
He has to go.
