Rashford the biggest winner?

I’m hopeful he can turn it around but it’s more than one bad season. Last season was decent statistically for him but it papered over the cracks.

I hope that they will be the case Robb. It will be interested to see how he is used - whether it will be out wide or through the middle. At this point I'd like to see him play through the middle.

The biggest winners are Mr and Mrs Ten Hag and family, when enough cash cascades into the bank that after six months they never need worry about a bill again.

People are very quick to write players and managers off these days.

There is a good player there, but he's also very out of form and confidence. He doesn't deserve to be starting games at the moment. That's not to say he can't down the line.

It's probably a combination of quite a few things that have hampered his season.

I'd imagine both he and Sancho will do a lot better under Ten Hag.

Legend as he may be, you need to get shot of Ronaldo

He comes from a very wealthy family and has managed Ajax for five years. Unless he asked the mob to help him with his gambling debts, I reckon he wasn't massively worrying about his financial security already.

ETH has never ever had to worry about paying a bill. Born into a multi-millionaire family.

Which bodes well as it suggests he's not one to become comfortable and settle for what he's got. Plenty of drive, hopefully he can instil this into the players.

As to the OP, I really hope so. He has talent and I think he has a great work ethic. He has been horribly under-coached and over-played over his formative seasons. I hope it's not too late to re-mould him as a player.

We only brought him into the academy for his commercial appeal. Very undeserving of a place.

Ré Rashford. One of my favourite players, so I hope he gets his mojo back.

Fair point, although to be equally fair I could retire quite comfortably on the 4M per season he's been earning at Ajax.

He'll come good, i think. Clearly lacking form, but the entire squad is. Let's hope a fresh start under a new manager is just what he needs.

As if Ten Hag will be able to get the best out of Rashford. He stopped caring once he had fed those greedy little kids. Unless Ten Hag stops the feeding kids scheme then he will never be able to motivate Rashford to get him back to previous levels. Football is a ruthless game and you have to make tough decisions in order to be successful and I am sure the kids could find food elsewhere if they sell their iPhones!

Maybe his first signing will be Patrick Bamford. They probably met at some rich persons country retreat where they hunt PSV players for fun

Why would Rashford be the biggest winner? What specifically about his game do you think suits what ETH expects - and what position do you think he'd play in?

His family have a net worth of 200-300 million euros and their company has 100 employees and 9 branches here in the Netherlands. He doesn't need the money.

Yes to the OP. Rashford has had one bad season of which he missed the beginning after coming back from surgery again. And I also wonder if Ronaldo changed a lot of things at United from where things were last August (good and bad) and one of them I am sure is Rashford's game and his uncertainty and confidence. He needs a summer break and a good preseason under the new manager. I think Rashford has been overrated by many United supporters who have turned on him unfairly because it has become obvious that he isn't actually world class. He's just quite good.

Hopefully a few players are transformed under a new regime and some proper coaching. Doesn’t always work out like that though.

Would like to go back to one of the ‘who will be the biggest winners under Ralf’ threads before he was appointed. Think it was usually Donny, Fred and Sanchos names cropping up.

Rashford is going to have to remember how to work hard off the ball, something he seems to have forgotten the last 2 years.

Ten Hag is credited with putting a lot of time into improving individual players, and with find a system that makes the most of different talents. So I guess this is Rashford's best opportunity to shine since LVG.

He shone under Ole for the most part, in fairness. Though whether he’s really developed enough as a player is something to consider, the freedom he was given off the ball isn’t something anyone else would have afforded him.
