The UK also plays its part in creating crises such as this by bombing countries or supplying arms to those who do. Syria, Yemen and many others.
I would guess the UK creates one asylum seeker for every one that turns up on these shores.

Hmmm. There’s a decent article in todays papers highlighting where these illegal immigrants originate from and it’s not as you suggest.
Denmark interestingly have the same arrangement with Rwanda. I don’t hear wide condemnation on that. Nor Australia for that matter.
Everyone wants something doing but have absolutely no idea on how to go about it. This situation will never end. Migrating populations number in the many many millions; all seeking a “better” life.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Denmark is trying to implement it but hasn't yet agreed.
Australia tried it for a period and scrapped it as too expensive and unworkable about 2 years ago.

There is no migration crisis. Problem solved.
There are numerous other crises though and you'd be very naive indeed to not understand how people living in poverty in the UK, under a cross-party political system which has ostracised and marginalised them for decades, feel aggrieved when they see other desperate people coming over and receiving support. Blaming the migrants and cracking down on people just trying to make it over for a better life for them and their families is not the answer though. Sending people who've risked their lives to get here on a one way trip to Rwanda is not the answer. Hostile environment is not the answer. If you want to fix the problem, you have to address both entrenched poverty within the UK and the asset-stripping of developing countries by western businesses and governments. There is just not the will in any mainstream UK party to do that though. Sure as shiiit isn't there in the Tories who love punching down on migrants as a convenient bogeyman to blame for the consequences of their political actions.
And here's a question directly for you Ginge - if the leadership and policies of the Conservative party don't reflect your own values, how can you continue to support them? Personally I'm in the "will rot in the ground before voting Tory" camp, but that's because of the political party, not the ideology itself. Tbh I do see some merit in some aspects of conservative political theory, but the Conservative Party are so far removed from actually representing that political theory that at this point they're just appropriating the name.

Because the alternatives to me are far worse.
There. That was an easy answer.
Wait
There’s no migration crisis?
Did some research a couple of years WPP. A significant issue in Africa is governments meddling in the affairs of inward investor operations. They are so used to every agency being corrupt they suffocate the companies with monitoring and opaque (corrupt) taxes that prevents those companies from truly realising dynamic development which, in turn, harms jobs, GDP and growth.
Companies just want to make money and grow it ought to be a no brainer but governments are more interested in what is in it for them rather than their country when it could be win / win.
Another issue is so much money channelled to grandiose infrastructure projects for prestige rather than costed and thought through benefit. Leaders want to be seen cutting the ribbon and taking credit. A mining operation or anonymous, square, grey industrial unit offers none of that.
Lastly, the workforce in much or rural Africa is inexperienced in how to work - access and benefits to harder work, education, aspiration.
Health and education are everything viz a developing society. Inward investment helps with that. It should be encouraged more, not less, as inverse as it sounds.
I could go find some references but it is all out there.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The crisis is human trafficking and people dying on overcrowded boats. The actual number of migrants coming over here, despite what Patel et al would have us believe, is not remotely a crisis. It's not even barely troubling.

And those are a result of criminal activity aiding and earning from an immigration crisis of trying to gain illegal entry to a country instead of applying for entry in the appropriate manner.

You know all these people are illegal migrants?
How?
They aren't going to get the hearing they're supposed to get under international law.
