Oh wow...tragic for the lad and his family...thats just awful news. Heart goes out to him and family.
So sad. I hope they find some peace in the birth of a healthy daughter.
I always wonder how footballers are expected to return to football so quickly after tragedies like this.
Devastating news for Ronaldo and his wife.
Joyous news on the birth of his daughter.
Unthinkable what emotions they must all be feeling.
so sad
So his son died in childbirth today but his daughter made it?

Very difficult to judge
The club will offer all the support, CR7 will be given compassionate leave as footy can wait, it is secondary in situations like this. I'd be very surprised if CR7 travels with the squad tomorrow.
This is just horrible. I am so sorry for Christiano Ronaldo and his wife's tragic and devastating loss.
RIP sweet angel

I don’t expect him to, but you hear about this sort of thing fairly often and players are almost expected to be robots and get back to performing.
Just such a sad world at the moment, quite got to me this
This is horrendous, thoughts with him and his wife.
I think it’s all about the individual and clubs let them have that choice. Serge Aurier, for instance, played immediately after his brother died last season. However D.Silva took quite a chunk of time off for his situation. I think clubs are very good regarding compassionate leave.

Tbf I don't think they are forced back. It is good to get back to some normality.
A lot of people in 'normal' jobs are forced back without the time or support they need - mother as well as the father.

Could and would not like to know what that feels like. Reading some comments on Facebook that are actually laughing at the news.

I came off social media now over a year ago. Best thing I ever did. It's just filled with hate.
Some people have literally zero compassion or good in them and the opportunity to get a rise out of people is more important to them.
Such a sad state of affairs the world is in. I now recommend everyone I know to come off socials and some are starting to see my point now.

I gave up Facebook ten years ago, absolutely hated it.

Awful news that... For anyone it happens to... Honestly can't begin to imagine how you deal with that.
I just saw a reply to CR7's Twitter message saying something along the lines of 'Why didn't God take Maguire'. Some people are just vile on social media but, as with a lot of things, there's a lot of good there as well. It does need to be policed a lot better though.

Terrible news, must be very difficult for the whole family. Cristiano seems a wonderful human being who does an immense amount of good for the sick and needy aswell as a brilliant parent.
